Yeah the new Tomodachi Life has definitely warmed up to me now. All that's missing is some kind of stealth patch for Switch 2 users that enhances the resolution and the like.

Why do I love this so much

I will say at this point in time the first impressions of the new Tomodachi Life did still leave me a bit sour because of how unwieldy the paint was compared to Miitopia.

But I understand now the tool just needed some time to learn, and I'm willing to take the hit on that.

More Mewtwo things should be considered in the future

Pokemon ZA was genuinely a nice experience for catching pokemon and having battles, not to mention the on-point fashion.

And the DLC honestly opened my eyes to trying shiny hunting, and it was a relaxing experience to go through while listening to podcasts in the background.

It's frustrating how many other games I couldn't squeeze in here. But here we are, belatedly. Feel free to talk me up with any of the choices.

There's no layers, no way to test facial expressions, there's not even a basic mirroring option for drawing. You have to hand select the part you want, make a copy of it, then manually flip it.

I genuinely can't believe it was designed like this

It tries to be more freeform, but ends up feeling terribly imprecise and ugly. I don't know why they couldn't have just kept the same makeup system as before.

Well I haven't really gotten to the game yet, but I can safely say that Tomodachi Life Living the Dream's face paint mode is an awful downgrade from Miitopia's makeup mode.

It lives up to its tagline as a life ruining game experience. But it's just genuinely amazing.
