Until Moto release their devices next year at least.

GrapheneOS is very compatible with apps. Out of the box you have the most private and locked down experience.

I found that I've been able to get everything working the same just by tweaking settings and permissions.

Bank apps, etc work, and I have RCS w/ AT&T, stuff ppl say doesn't work.

Gaël Duval is the founder and president of the /e/ foundation along with the CEO of Murena. Duval and his organizations have consistently taken a stance against protecting users from exploits. In this video, he once again claims protecting against exploits is for only useful pedophiles and spies.

"GrapheneOS devs go about shitting on other CFW OSes"

That only makes sense if you think consumer watchdogs shit on companies when their products and services don't meet advertised claims or fulfil what they promise.

We'd honestly rather they just did what they claimed and leave us out of it.

Anyway, unlike CalyxOS and /e/OS, GrapheneOS actually cares and gives a shit about privacy and security.

The American Way unfortunately. Thankfully UK/EEA have Curve.

on GrapheneOS, Play Services are unprivileged, and permissions are user modifiable like any other app. you can opt to disable Play Services location access if you want to.

Molly has 3 push services an efficient websocket, UnifiedPush or play services agnostic FCM.

Signal has FCM or a highly inefficient, especially for battery, websocket push.

The former always preferable to the latter with even more client side benefits.

The ONLY thing that could cause as obstruction is the app implementing Play Integrity but we need to get it installed to see if that enters the equation.

You just need to choose where you want to install them all, Owner, Private Space or secondary user profile. Once done if you encounter issues fire back and we'll work them out. Remember Play Services on GrapheneOS are nothing frightening and are normal user based apps with all the same restrictions.

If they require Play Services to be present, you're gonna need to install them. If they check for Play as the installer of record on the device, installing from elsewhere won't help. We provide everything necessary to enable it to work, all per app toggles for our protections.

One of our users did, any chance you could help us validate what they encountered and then troubleshoot for them?

GrapheneOS regularly fixes issues in Android disclosed by Project Zero after their 90 day deadline expires. We have fixes for multiple security weaknesses found by Project Zero which are unresolved in Android. GrapheneOS actually benefits more from Google's Project Zero than upstream Android.

Motorola could do that already. The partnership isn't so shallow and the devices, to begin with, will release with Motos standard OS just like Pixels and their own OS but they'll both support an alternate OS install. The hypothetical exists for both of them. It's a non sequitur.

I've been on GrapheneOS for a little while now, highly recommend it

No obviously it won't be open source, all ARM SoC are closed source etc but people often conflate closed with black box that can't be inspected, this is not the case a common misconception. Those that know how can and do, no different than open source where majority of people can't and don't.

Pixels are still and will remain available too while Pixels maintain their alternate OS support. We'd also welcome people auditing the hardware/firmware and responsibly disclosing it involving us in the process.

Lenovo and Motorola are still different companies, we'll be having more involvement with firmware and the behaviour of it as part of our requirements and part of an AOSP system govern it entirely differently.

Wow what a thing to suddenly drop..

Only thing I can see is Hasbro don't like me using a character of theirs, which took in human & autobot alike, gave them refuge, protected them against foes larger than themselves. I chose it because TF G1 was about standing up for what you believe in, freedom!
