I think youâve just identified what sets me off so badly about the unhinged breastmilk/formula discourse out there, despite having exclusively breastfed myself. Itâs the bodily purity bullshit, which is incredibly dangerous (and also manifests in anti-vaccine sentiment).

I can safely say I am no longer concerned about U.S. Rep. David Scottâs health.
I love how this mashes together something reasonable (sugary cereals are not the best thing to keep around all the time) with something absolutely unhinged (kids canât have preferences/tastes that develop over time).

Right, thatâs what I mean. The system that exists now is not compatible with universal coverage.
I really just meant ending the system where losing your job means losing your health insurance.
I think this is a âwithin reasonâ thing. For example, I would argue that a commitment to universal healthcare and ending employer-sponsored healthcare is both a value and a strong policy view, even if it allows flexibility in whether that should be a multi-payer or single-payer or socialized system.

Happens to all of us.
Did you read the article? The author's child contracted measles before she was old enough to be vaccinated. The author was vaccinated and did get her kids vaccinated.
The death of any child from a vaccine-preventable disease is tragic, but there's something so viscerally heartbreaking and outrageous about the death of a child who was exposed to measles before they were even old enough to be vaccinated.
That poor girl and her poor mother. đ
You really do find the most fascinating people to block
âMirror Mirrorâ was iconic, the constant revisiting in DS9 was bad.
If I may addâBlack voters constitute similar percentages of the population in Maryland and Alabama. The political chasm between the two is primarily because of the very different voting behavior of white voters in those states.
In all seriousness, if you really do have a general election where the party of the winner is a foregone conclusion, I think if anything it gives members of the minority party a chance to weigh in on which majority party member they would prefer in a way they otherwise couldnât.

Yeah actually now that you mention it, if you want to keep the jungle primary before the general election, approval voting is probably the best option.
i feel like rcv would solve the problem!
Correct, and the people saying "it was all in the plan!" have not actually read Project 2025.
As it turns out I actually have read the public health sections in P2025 and yanno what? This shit isn't in there! Project 2025 is pro-PEPFAR! People are just making shit up online for clout!

a lot of the reason itâs been as bad as it has is because congress has basically decided to abolish itself, something which is notably not actually in the white houseâs control
anyway this turbocentrist bs isnât actually working anymore. just howling into cyberspace.
even on tariffs there are literally two mutually-contradictory heritage foundation white papers back to back, one calling for protectionist trade policies and the other railing against them.
âitâs all in project 2025!â you are illiterate
folks keep bringing up p2025 but no actually, i have read a lot more of it than these people have and a lot of this shit isnât even there
p2025 was expressly pro-pepfar! there was nothing in it about unilaterally dismantling usaid! whatâs now happening at nih is not in the public health sections!
I made a joke a while back about how an AOC/Ossoff (or vice-versa) ticket would have the advantage of being extremely telegenic, and the more I think about it the more I think thatâs actually worth considering in this media environmentâŚ
