Those who are uncomfortable with this Labour immigration announcement, but think it's necessary to satisfy Reform voters, this is for you.

You will not satisfy. You will never satisfy.

Enraging to have grown up around working class black people who came to the UK and broke themselves for it only to be told that their host nation still has “legitimate concerns” about them being there.

Appalling speech by Starmer. Dishonest, inhumane and most of all, cowardly.

Britain’s tariff burden worse than EU British products are subject to higher total US import taxes than those from Continent

Well so much for that “Brexit benefit”.

Really didn’t last long.

Unimpressive that this is based on an overturned judgment - Blue Labour folks becoming Trumpian in their willingness to tell untruths about migration - rozenberg.substack.com/p/who-needs-it

New images could change cancer diagnostics, but ICE detained the Harvard scientist who analyzes them Without scientist Kseniia Petrova’s expertise, no one can fully unlock the data’s potential, putting crucial advancements in early cancer detection at risk.

Almost every line of this story would have been simply unbelievable a few months ago:

—Pioneering cancer researcher;
—*Arrested* at airport in Boston;
—Now indefinite ICE detention in Louisiana;
—"Crime": not declaring some frog-embryo samples for research.

Read it.

It's interesting that Reform's councillor gains almost exactly equal Tory losses, and LibDem and Green gains almost exactly equal Labour losses.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt says she will speak to Trump and the National Security team about whether the US can offer political asylum to British citizens fleeing UK free speech laws.

Reality: UK law does not restrict free speech - only incitement to hate, violence and terror.

Utilitarianism is not an argument for people who refuse vaccines for their kids

Youre arguing a moral point to try to make a claim against a fact one

it will just get dismissed

In the 1900s about 18% or nearly one in five American children died before their fifth birthday. Mostly from preventable infectious diseases.

Today less than 1% of children die before the age of 5.

If you think more kids dying is a moral good that's on you

Labour’s great nature sellout is the worst attack on England’s ecosystems I’ve seen in my lifetime | George Monbiot The horrifying planning bill, which rips up environmental protections, was drafted with CEOs in mind. We know because Keir Starmer told us, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

"The government’s planning and infrastructure bill is the worst assault on England’s ecosystems in living memory. It erases decades of environmental protections, including legislation we inherited from the EU, which even the Tories promised to uphold." www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

These cases will never survive federal courts overseen by federal judges...which means at some point I'm pretty sure they're going to resort to military tribunals or kangaroo courts in soccer stadiums

It's not even an exaggeration. The same guidance bans trans women from women's bathrooms and trans men from men's bathrooms. They then said trans women can be banned from men's bathrooms and trans men from women's bathrooms. Trans people literally cannot use any bathroom.

Maybe federal judges will realize it's time to stop dicking around and time to start throwing people in jail themselves.

Today, they are arresting judges

Tomorrow it could be Democratic members of Congress

A Ticking Clock on American Freedom It’s later than you think, but it’s not too late.

"When an authoritarian tells you he’s going to do something, believe him. Each outlandish statement is a trial balloon, one step closer to action. And when people don’t push back...the boundaries...permanently shift."

AOC: I saw on Fox, Jeanine Pirro says that they found so many babies and two year olds and four year olds receiving social security. I got a notice for you Jeanine Pirro: those babies receive social security because their parents died. That’s not a waste. That’s humanity. That’s America.

First they came for the innocent man deported to a Salvadoran gulag on an “administrative error” they falsely claim they’re powerless to reverse, flouting court orders even from the Supreme Court — and I spoke out, because I know how the damn poem ends.

Retailers urge action to stop Chinese fast-fashion flooding into UK The British Retail Consortium says ‘de minimis’ tax rule should be scrapped to bar retailers like Shein and Temu from dumping US stock in Britain

The US and EU are both closing the loophole that allows substandard goods to be dumped without paying tax - harming consumers and local businesses. Why won't Labour? www.thetimes.com/article/f04d...
