Die letzte LNP zu #eIDAS zeigt einmal mehr, welch großartige Arbeit @socialhack.bsky.social und die Teams von epicenter.works und edri.org leisten. Für mich sind die Fördermitgliedschaften dort wie eine Versicherung für digitale Grundrechte ✊
#NetNeutrality is a global issue. The indivisibility of the net is what’s at stake. Meaningful connectivity for all is the goal. This is a battle worth fighting and with every attack more people join our side.
The Commission will issue a white paper in February 2024, but we can expect no legal proposal in this term. The next sock puppet of the Telcos in the Commission – Breton or his successor – will surely try again, but it will be a more uphill battle for them and we will win again.
With todays Telecom Minister meeting in Leon the EU debate on network fees aka. fair share is finally over. Ministers issue statements distancing themselves. Even Bretons’ speech makes no attempt. We saved #NetNeutrality in the EU once more. Brazil, India & USA are next.

I know Commissioner Thierry Breton has to keep up the theater, but by now everybody sees the emperor has no cloths. The power grab has failed and telcos lost a huge part of their political capital in Europe. The world watches.
We know the reports analysing the consultation must be finished by now because the tender included a strict timeline. etendering.ted.europa.eu/cft/cft-display.html
Surprisingly today the Commission pushes the release of the consultation responses and reports analysing those after the summe break. Usually responses are released in days after consultations close and here we have been waiting for over two months already!
