First take out of court: Trump will lose, as he always should have, and the main question is how badly he’ll lose and on what grounds. There is a path for a 9-0 ruling, with Alito (and, to a less clear extent, Thomas) as the sticking points. More to come at Law Dork: www.lawdork.com

A La Guardia TSA Agent Tells All
On the shutdown, ICE agents “doing nothing,” and making your flight.
ICE agents are “getting paid to do nothing,” says a La Guardia TSA worker. “They arrived on Monday, and now they’re hanging out in the break room doing nothing. They’re warming up their lunch. I don’t know what you’re hungry from — you didn’t do anything!” www.curbed.com/article/tsa-...

🟢 Durant, OK warehouse has sold… to the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma!

No one is safe when ICE is present – whether in airports, on the streets or in one of the agency’s more than 200 abuse-ridden detention facilities. We demand members of Congress act now to cut ICE funding, get ICE out of airports & communities nationwide, & shut down ICE detention centers for good!

Leqaa Kordia and Ward Sakeik embracing
Warms my heart to see both Leqaa Kordia and Ward Sakeik free after so long in ICE detention. Both are Palestinian, and they met in a Texas facility. Ward, who came to the US at 9 years old, told @thebarbedwire.com that their friendship is what got her through it:

The Roxbury town council (unanimously Republican) opposed the project in January and joined the state's lawsuit. After New Hampshire's governor met with DHS Secretary Noem, the feds dropped a similar project there. NJ Gov. Mikie Sherrill sent a comparable letter, yet DHS moved forward anyway.

On Friday, NJ and Roxbury Township sued DHS to block the facility. The lawsuit argues the project violates federal environmental laws, would overwhelm local infrastructure, and send sewage overflows into the Musconetcong River, a federally protected drinking water source for 14.2 million people.

The warehouse currently has FOUR toilets. New Jersey jail standards for a facility holding 1,500 people would require at least 125 toilets, 125 wash basins, and 94 showers. DHS didn't consult with the state or town before buying it.

This is Day 8 of me naming and shaming DHS for all the fucking prisons and WAREHOUSES they're seeking to open to profit off of immigrant bodies. In Roxbury, NJ, the feds bought a warehouse for $129.3 million with plans to convert it into a 1,500-bed detention center. 🧵

Antisemitism is on the rise and that’s absolutely awful.
No movement is free of bigotry, but blaming this rise on the pro Palestine movement is absurd when you have pro Israel & Zionist groups insisting that genocide is Jewish & white nationalists jumping on that bandwagon to suppress speech.

Ending immigration detention is deeply connected to ending sexual violence: by design, immigration detention facilitates sexual violence.
