"The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command."

My husband sent this to me. Should I be worried?
“Those are pretexts…”
Yes! Thank you!
My brother has cerebral palsy and didn’t talk until he was older. My dad was a computer programmer, so he wrote some BASIC programs to help him communicate, and a game with Ernie, Burt, and Big Bird. It was on an Apple IIe (I think), 1984-ish.
It shouldn't get lost that just today, Senate Republicans have voted to close nursing homes, close rural hospitals, and cut food stamp benefits for children and veterans.
The Republican Party has fully embraced fascism and destroyed American democracy. But some Democrats still say Latinx. I have never felt more politically homeless.
Is “geriatric millennial” older than a “young GenXer”? Asking for a friend…
My god, Rahm Emanuel is insufferable.
I would, too!
This is what I’ve made clear to my husband I want when it’s time. I have no idea if it’s legal where I live, though. I should probably find out…
Teachers do not actually live at school.
If he comes to my house, I can show him what happens when you don’t!
Both Maine Congress people are D. Sen Susan Collins is the only R they send to Washington. It is crazy. My great grandmother’s cottage in Ferry Beach is surrounded by rentals that primarily rent to Canadian tourists. I can’t imagine how the coastal region will suffer this year
The google draw template shared above works well for my purposes. Of course, we only deal with forces at right angles in 9th grade.
Ooooh!!! This looks great. Thanks!
Are any of you aware of an online tool for easily drawing and labeling FBD? I’m too much of a perfectionist for a basic draw program. The few I’ve found were more cumbersome than I like.

If a school is writing standards based grading from the ground up, I can agree with what you’re saying. But many of us don’t live in that world.
I would argue the two practices you’re singling out were designed as bandaids in a reality where teachers do not get to design or choose their grading software and have to use what the district provides and the policies the district has written.
The real value of college isn’t career training. It’s learning about perspectives different from your own, and how to think critically from a more expansive pov. Not everyone has to go to college, but I still think we underestimate its value. And it should be so damn expensive.
Now that it's December, here's your annual reminder about creating a classroom environment that's inclusive of *all* of your students

I feel like this balance is much easier now that I’m in my 40’s than it was in my 20’s. Not sure if that’s simply the age difference or me being more comfortable in my own skin or maturity.
And schools do not exist in a vacuum. Many of the problems have partial origins outside the classroom. Screen addiction, family culture, stress, values…
The Lego Movie is a favorite in this house!
