Oh, wow, what are the odds it would start from dragging our salary schedule!

I was more of a “Dear John” kid myself.
Stacks of books and zines acquired on a two-week library-centric trip.
A trip to 2 countries, 3 library conferences, 4 cities, and many bookstores does create something of a packing problem.
Photo of the cover of On writers and writing by Henry James, published by the New York Review of Books.
Definitely a skill— one I will probably flex, having adopted some James literary criticism during the last day of ALA book rush today!
Sure! I do have one of the inside-out dresses (with Van Gogh and Monet paintings), and I do wear it both ways fwiw, the only downside is no pockets.
@drkarrschmidt.bsky.social Ah, probably Black Milk, I have some of their stuff. Looks like there are some of the Bosch dresses available on eBay!
Thanks to all of the excellent members of the working groups; we put together some good arguments and resources on the importance of cataloging and metadata work!!
Thanks for including the SAC working groups!!
Heads up if you oppose these changes to LCSH, whether cataloger or not; this is the only day to comment! #critcat
P.S. Theseus and Ariadne is a theme in Romola, which has perhaps Eliotʻs most awful husband!!!
I do appreciate that both of them did actually eventually realize they had messed up sooo bad!
It’s hilarious to me how bent out of shape James gets about anything to do with Dorothea as a widow; dude nobody thinks this is brotherly concern!
EEEK! Hope it goes/went well, and itʻs one less worry going forward!
Thanks Violet! Excited that now we get to hire on more people to work on it!
Excited for the continued work of creating a Hawaiian knowledge organization system and improving our description through the Kahoʻiwai Mellon Grant!! Honored to be contributing to this work. #knowledgeorganization #critcat #controlledvocabularies www.hawaii.edu/news/2025/01...
Photo of canopy of hanging white flowers and leaves of a Bengal trumpet vine in front of a college building, with concrete benches underneath.
Branch in newly blooming pink and white flowers from a Baker’s shower tree, against a cloudy sky with patches of blue.
Taking time to notice the flowers around campus today.
Thanks! It’s fun to figure out how to distinguish them using different stitches and shapes. 🪡
Piece of embroidery with the words metadata, very demure, very mindful surrounded by flowers, a lace collar, and a bookshelf in shades of pink, purple, and gray.
Inspired by a comment from @bibliowingate.bsky.social , behold my newest metadata-related embroidery project. #metadata

I saw a prop replica at Barnes & Noble yesterday, and had to buy it, just for the format! The endpapers show the pages seen onscreen.
This thread is the perfect hype up while working on my cataloging syllabus for next semester!!
They didn’t even give this sentiment to the disaffected purple-haired girl?!?
I took an online class a few years ago where we did close readings of Emma, and I ended up loving it so much more!
Couldn’t find the book I was looking for at the local Barnes and Noble, then wandered off after asking after it, so I had to respond to “will the customer looking for Absolution come to the reference desk.”
Now I'm thinking I should make a demure metadata embroidery. 📑🪡👵
I’m going to say it was the discussion of various magic book conventions in @book-historia.bsky.social ‘s class that caused me to go arguably too hard painting this children’s Halloween craft kit from target.
