The primary barrier to engaging in collective dialogical learning is that so many of the people around us and in our circles are only prepared for debate bro style interactions. We have almost no culture of collaborative knowledge creation.

I'm tired of hearing "we need to start somewhere" from people who ignore existing movements and refuse to learn from the history and veterans of the struggle.

We already started. We don't need to "start somewhere" multiple times a year because you just discovered activism.

We've been fighting for #WarriorNun for a long time. We went through circles of grief due to cancellation, fandom stuff, polls, different strikes and now financial issues. Oh well, just take one step at a time and hopefully get closer to the return of Warrior Nun. 😁

I’m not sure if you and I are necessarily talking about the same thing, though. And it’s honestly extremely exhausting and time-consuming to tackle, even without being involved as a coach, parent, or ref. But it definitely does add credibility to anything you might propose.

Ironically, I am trying to return to coffee from energy drinks, and have added tea back in to the rotation.

So what they got to watch at home was mostly said the science kid, and other things you’d likely find on PBS kids. I turned on VeggieTales, though, because I live in the Bible Belt and wanted to have the convos abt that stuff at home, to reduce chances of somebody trying to slip them some Hateraid.

I did not allow my kids to watch SpongeBob, and did allow VeggieTales, but the irony is in the reason: I knew it was inevitable that they would catch up with their peers on all the toilet jokes they missed once they started school.

I don't think the actor Earl Holliman, who just died at 96, officially came out, so I was touched to see his passing confirmed by his husband. His first screen role was in 1952; he came up when, for an actor, coming out was not difficult but impossible. He lived through things we'll never know. RIP.
