Wouldn't think so as you hear bands as Bedsore doing it without going on for long. Just a matter of what directions you take it i guess. If the idea is to draw it out for longer periods, fine i get it as it's what they choose it for. Doesn't mean it will sound better either way imo.

Agreed, i just find myself wanting death metal that does the job without the add-ons since i only like it when done in sparse moments and not drawn out in longer parts.
