Ahh, yeah on all accounts. I won't watch YT w/out it.

U should look at the Brave app ๐
I like the idea that part of getting to heaven is collecting your items from the lost & found box ๐๐คฃ
"At $1.99 per minute....Users of the platform can join video calls with an avatar of Jesus generated by artificial intelligence."
Another reminder that we are hands down the most absurd species on the planet!

That was fantastic! A nice trip down memory lane too as I got to see him live back in the day.
Sports in general have become insane to me: 4 hour football games with only 11 minutes of actual action, college athletes getting millions to "go to college," World Cup ticket prices requiring a bank loan.....I gave up on 90% of the sports I used to watch. Thank god for comics ๐
Secrets, the hallmark of a true addict ๐
Hahaha!! I think you may find answers in my current read, The Ten Thousand Doors of January ๐
It's a plausible explanation!
I hate events! As a kid they were fun, but now I despise them. I think there were 4 or 5 tie in issues for JL Unlimited...I haven't read any of them.
I'm planning to cut my pull list for the next big crossover event.
Lol!! It took me just over 2 months of detoxing from book buying, but now I'm actually enjoying working through the library. I am however looking forward to the pre-ordered Murderbot next month ๐
For that kinda $, I could fly to Wales for a week and catch 2 of my teams matches.... and drink a lot of good beer!! It's a Championship club & honestly, I'd be more interested in doing that. Tournaments are OK, but I want to see a team that goes through the trials of a 40+ match season!
Now I'm intrigued!
Outstanding!!!!
That'd be great, I'd definitely be up for that!!!
Funny, my reaction was the opposite ๐
Great book, let it be a great book. Yes, I'm an old curmudgeon ๐คฃ๐
Right on Tade! It helps to have reminders to keep the mind open, thanks for that. I'll definitely give it a try!
Black & white pages from Terry Moore's "Strangers in Paradise" comic series.
If u haven't read @terrymooreart.bsky.social Strangers in Paradise, what are u waiting for?
It's an epic masterpiece of love, heartbreak, friendship, organized crime, the seedy political underworld & so much more. Laced w/comedy & his incredibly beautiful artwork! #ComicSky #BookSky ๐๐ #Comics
Agree 100%!!! I had to do the self imposed buying pause which was hard to start, but I'm now loving. I think that along w/trying to read less - it's taken me 2+ months to be ok w/reading less pages per day. My mind is absurd....but it's the only one I got ๐คฏ
I wasn't familiar so had to look it up. I think it's the genre...it shows as "weird fantasy" & I don't think it suits my taste. I'm sure there are books w/in that I will enjoy, but I definitely lean towards scifi, lit. fiction, comics & history.
HAHAHA!! I know I won't get through all the books in my library before I die....it's just not possible. I try and remind myself to slow down, enjoy and not consume. It also really helps with DNFing a book because why waste the time on something that isn't resonating!
Oh interesting! I've had the trilogy on my shelf for far to long so I'm going to try and get to it this summer. I love that idea of a "safety author," - I'm going to have to think on who that would be for me.
I'm excited to give this series a go!
So cool!! I love seeing this kind of stuff...thanks for continuing to share!
I remember seeing this in the theater and it's just plain fun for all the action. It's great at what it does, but not for everyone.
I think I made it 150 pages or so. The plot/story is completely different than Jade City, but it reminded me of that in the sense everyone was raving about it & it just missed the mark with me.
Have u read Robert Jackson Bennett's Founders Trilogy? It's one I hope to get to.
I agree that there is so much out there to explore!! I really wish many of the online only ones did printed copies. I ran into the same thing - the online ones just get missed/overlooked, but the printed ones I actually read. Might be the printed ones are within sight so there's a great reminder!
Tonight's showing!
The Wind Rises (2013)
Yeah, I'm on a bit of a Miyazaki run. It's great medicine for all the chaos in the world.

This is one of those modern fantasy books everyone told me to read & I couldn't finish. This was part of a long steak of disappointing modern fantasy. It finally ended with Jemison's Broken Earth trilogy.
Yeah, why use a device that works correctly when u can throw it in a dump so u can buy a newer one that does the same thing?
This is what pushed me to cancel all my Amazon related accounts. This move is all about greed & they're basically saying, "f*ck the users"
Just curious, are they digital subscriptions?
I have a subscription to Clarkesworld which delivers me a collection of SF short stories every month. Plus one of my yearly challenges on StoryGraph is to read 8 short story collections.
I found after a few months it became a habit & now I always have a short story collection going.
