In 1998, California minimum wage was $5.75 an hour. Today, it is $16.90. Pacific Grove council pay has not changed since 1998. Public service should be accessible to working people, not just the wealthy and well connected. Vote YES on Measure C.
If City Council service pays less than minimum wage and does not even cover childcare, who gets shut out? Working parents and working people. Public service should be accessible.
Vote YES on Measure C.
Our endorsement vote reflected the breadth of PG Progressives: retirees, young adults, renters, homeowners, newer neighbors, and longtime residents. Voting closed last night. Results soon.
Today. 2pm. Monterey.
Millions are showing up nationwide — we're showing up too.

The Monterey County Democratic Central Committee has endorsed Measure C in Pacific Grove. City Council members haven’t had a raise in 27 years. Public service shouldn’t be a luxury. Vote YES in June. 🗳️
Grateful to the Monterey County Women Democrats, Democratic Women of Santa Cruz County, and San Benito County Democrats for tonight’s inspiring gubernatorial forum. Powerful to gather around such a hopeful vision for California and the Central Coast.

Stop offshore drilling off California. A new federal plan could reopen our waters to new oil & gas leasing, putting marine wildlife, our coastline, and nearby communities at risk.

Thanks for showing up with us in 2025, from door knocking and rallies to quiet conversations and First Fridays. In 2026 we’ll keep organizing for housing, democracy, climate action, and community. Want in? Learn more at www.pgprogressives.org/join
Here’s our submission for Color of the Year: 🌊
We asked our members how they’ll be spending their money from Nov 25–Dec 2 during the Black Friday boycott, and this is what they recommended!

Let’s make every yard a safe stop. Ninety percent of our monarchs were lost last year. We can change that with pesticide-free yards, seasonal native nectar plants, and wind-sheltering trees. Get your Safe Monarch yard sign to help spread the word.
Nobody’s gonna rain on our parade! Though our beach bonfire got rained out, we pivoted at the last minute, and still 15 absolute troopers showed up, costumes and all. Giant thank you to everyone who rolled with the punches and brought the joy anyway.🐦⬛ 🦨 🐻🦩
Our VP, Colleen Ingram, shared powerful words at tonight’s joint Progressive and Arab American Caucus meeting during the CDP Executive Board Meeting in Monterey. The panel lifted up justice, coalition building, and a bold path forward for California progressives.
In addition to canvassing for Prop 50 today, we took a little break to pass out candy to the downtown trick-or-treaters. 🎃🍬 Thank you to everyone who showed up and participated. So many adorable and scary costumes!
Over 600 doors canvassed today in Pacific Grove, with huge thanks to our local volunteers (pretty sure Cindy is still out there in the rain) and Democrats from across the state.
Team PG Progressives won the first-ever Monterey Pride × Museum Queer Trivia Night! 🏆🌈
We showed up in full-on critter couture, brought the brains, and left with the crown. Huge love to the organizers for a joyful night of queer history, laughs, and learning.
Thank you to everyone who joined the No Kings Rally today, and to all who stopped by the PG Progressives table. If you felt energized, come be part of our community. We host regular progressive gatherings where neighbors connect, learn, and take action together.
Join us for coffee, conversation, and community.
Meet with members of PG Progressives on Tue, Oct 14, 2–3 PM at Phoebe’s Cafe (Asilomar Conference Grounds) for our next Coffee Talk. Share what’s on your mind, from concerns to ideas, and help shape what we work on next.
It’s a beautiful day for canvassing! Huge thanks to our Pacific Grove volunteers pounding the pavement for Prop 50, protecting democracy one convo at a time. We still have 29 turfs up for grabs. Sign-up here: www.mobilize.us/mobilize/eve...
37 of 72 turfs covered; 35 still open. Congrats to Sarah, Meganne, Crystal, and Colleen for canvassing the most houses so far. Green on the maps = available; red hatched = taken. Want a specific neighborhood? Email info@pgprogressives.org or sign up on Mobilize.

We’re drawing a line in the sand for democracy. On Nov 4, vote YES on Prop 50 to protect fair elections and keep redistricting independent.

Big thanks to Ayo Banjo for joining our Coffee Talk today for a conversation on the state of the Democratic Party, advancing a progressive agenda, and tackling the cost of living crisis locally and across California. Ayo is a progressive leader to watch, and we’re excited to keep building together.
Get your walking shoes ready. In Oct, we’ll be knocking on doors. We’d love for you to join.
The best part? We’ll provide you with the exact left-leaning houses to target, so you make the most impact. Even just covering your own block makes a real difference.
Let’s hit the streets together!
Vote YES on 50 this November.

California’s voice in Washington is on the line. Without Prop 50, Republicans will redraw the rules to grab more power and weaken our representation. With Prop 50, we defend fair maps, protect democracy, and keep California’s voice strong.
Aug 22, 2024 we became a Democratic club. Tomorrow marks 1 year and 3 years organizing for an inclusive, sustainable PG. Wins: ✓ Council majority ✓ PGUSD seat ✓ DEI defended. Next: code of conduct, rec for all, climate mobility, eco-tourism, housing. Join: pgprogressives.org/join
