I understand the anger & frustration that makes it hard to resist rubbing in their faces, but I think extending grace IF they ever see the error of their ways is the best path forward. Not because they deserve it, but because we need to be the bigger people & try to build a better future.

Here is the danger of where we are.
Trump is a notorious liar. If there is one thing he doesn’t fail at, it is to lie whenever it suits him.
What this means is that we have no idea what we can or cannot trust. A part of this is because we don’t have a shared morality and understanding of reality.
So here’s the thing…even IF there wasn’t a parable *explicitly* undermining this narrow idea of neighbor, Jesus also said “love your enemies.” There’s simply no escaping the fact that Jesus calls us to radically expand our concepts of love and hospitality.

Exactly. I also said if Jesus does come back tomorrow, I want Him to find me going about his business (taking care of what He’s put in front of me - my family, community, etc). I don’t want Him to find me paralyzed in fear just waiting for “the end”.
I had 2 family members saying the same to me. I calmly responded with, “And so what if it is?” 🤷♀️ They were shocked & asked what I meant. I said whether it is or not, it doesn’t change what God expects of us - to love Him & love people. We should do that instead of hand wring over what we don’t know
