Passing Storm. I was hoping for the forecasted thunderstorms but the rain was most welcome. At its heaviest a joy to watch and listen. Still some dark clouds about, it’s not done yet.
Passing Storm is a reduction linocut print with Waterloo Bridge in the foreground.

So hot again, the grass everywhere looks yellow and all plants are suffering, but making the most of being outside before the forecasted thunderstorms.
This is a crop from my Bushy Park linocut print.

The Thames at Tower Bridge at Greenwich Printmakers in Journeys show. Image all those journeys those buses and boats have, are and will make. To say nothing of those if the birds.

It was perfect weather this year for the Hampton Court Palace music festival and pre show picnics. I called this one The Picnickers after being there myself.

Haha. In that case it wouldn’t matter if they had a wintery or summery image.

Maybe a psychological response to the rising temperatures, a sense of feeling cooler. Similar to wanting summer scenes in the winter.

Attempting to feel cool in the heat and hoping gazing at the sea in this print will work its old magic.

One Evening in Summer. Which is near perfect today. But no walk in the park for me as I’ve been finishing prep for the Paper Ink Print fair at Landmark Arts Centre Teddington this weekend.

It will pass. It’s not easy. Take stock of what you’ve done, what worked and what didn’t, go forward. Enjoy it.

Sometimes there’s a point where the print in progress isn’t finished but looks good and it feels a bit scary to carry on incase it all goes wrong. There’s still a few layers to go on this reduction linocut print. Fingers crossed.

Reflecting on how you can can’t put a time limit on being creative, it often takes much longer than you think and you need to know the day can’t end until you’re ready.
From Ham to Richmond Bridge will come with me to the Paper Ink Print fair at the Landmark Arts Centre.

I’ve been working on something for a group effort today, taking me a little out of my comfort zone, and time is tight. But it’s a good thing for me to do I realise.
This one of the view from Richmond Hill is an old one. I’ll share the new things in good time.

Stated at over eight thousand in the queue for Proms tickets, thank goodness it’s online and not actually there. How far would the physical line stretch I wonder.
