I will always find it confusing that some people think a person riding a $2000 bike to commute is a privileged elitist but the guy in the $80k truck that costs $150 to fill is the working class average joe.
um, wow?!
you may know this, but a lot of bikes come with fairly cheap plastic pedals, and nicer bikes with no pedals at all! i think they're assuming you'll replace them anyway. though why this is the case i have no idea. but it doesn't necessarily mean other parts of your bike are low quality.
ahh, respect and meaningful connections are invaluable! I hope you can continue to build them
in what ways do you want to be more popular?
a white cis man dancing on the street with downtown buildings and other people in the background. he's wearing a white crop top with painted boobies, a flowery pink pair of short shorts, and purple suede boots, plus a red? face mask. he's facing down with his arms out in dance pose

I've been mad about this since I started seeing it, on 9/11. our bloody history to subjugate, enslave, and kill nonwhite people started with the revolution - the British empire was ending the slave trade. the scam started there because wealth requires a lower class of people.
White folks you were lied to about America. Be mad about that. You were shoveled some horseshit about how it's the land of justice & freedom. That was never the reality for a while bunch of marginalized folks including Black folks & natives. Your believing it was ok depended on it being hell for us.
all fight scenes are choreographed dances where nobody gets hurt
I have a friend who is likely on the spectrum and loves flags - anytime a flag question comes up, I'm like, Greg - your time has come! tell us what you know about this flag!
if you're looking for an option:
i got into using resistance bands at home in 2020. they're not super obvious how to best use them, but they can be a pretty great addition to body-weight workouts once you figure it out.
they're also not expensive and don't take up much space

men can’t understand what it’s like for women to see story after story after story of women being victims of sexual violence in a culture where it’s routine; what it’s like to live in a world that is fundamentally hostile to our existence. it’s a wonder we leave the fucking house, let alone thrive.
My yard has too many squirrels. who wants to trade for a pygmy goat?
for one hopeful second I read the headline as the Conservation people were hunting ICE with these surveillance cameras.
alas ...
Millions of American voters wanted to be villains. They came to believe it’s the key to success, while goodness is weak, woke, loser stuff, done only to signal.
Offered the option of unvarnished villainy, they enthusiastically took it. Seeing others suffer more made them feel big.
And here we are.
can you tell me more about this cool-looking space?!
ok, but can i make sure nobody parks in front of my home? including me? orrrr, what if i could rent that space out? half the money goes to the city!

"What you feel in your heart towards the series is almost entirely irrelevant. What matters is what you do, because J. K. Rowling is out there doing a lot of things...Nothing is adequate to the situation except the truth. There is no way to watch the new Harry Potter show subversively"
the first song in Steven Universe, "Cookie Cat" acts as a Greek chorus telling the whole story to come, unbeknownst to the audience. Further evidence: it is the last song in the finale of SU Future, when Pearl et al sing it, just like the chorus coming back on stage to recap.
San Francisco had so many lost parrots for a while they started naming the colonies that lived around the city. I got to see a special SFMOMA exhibit of lost parrot bills posted around the city. was wonderfully sad and evocative!
