Phenomenal history of Tetris The Grand Master. Watched the whole series in one sitting.
Part history lesson, preservation doc, fan coverage and current state of Tetris itself.
Tetris has such a complicated and interesting history!

It is!
Big news day at work…
Maybe I should just focus on DDR instead? 🤔
4 hours to go! Can I find 6 more people interested in buying a copy of the book to help us reach the goal? Let's make this thing DELUXE!

The controller support is very good! This is awesome!
Nintendo’s games feel special in a way other developers can’t quite imitate. But why? According to @mackeza.bsky.social, author of Super Nintendo, an upcoming book about the Mario and Zelda maker, it’s because teams are intergenerational
Fair, I’ve only recently started using planning phases more. I’ve had mixed success with roadmaps, memory docs, etc. Either creates a lot of noise that looks useful, or ends up being write-only.
Stuff is moving so fast, it seems like there’s another 10x improvement every other week!
Yeah dude, this video is a good primer. youtu.be/_IK18goX4X8
You getting on the Ralph Wiggum train? Seems to be the new hotness.
I’m in it, and no, we haven’t. 😂
Dang! Seems no one knows yet! 🫡
How did you make your name glow yellow for that leaderboard? 👀
Does this mean someone can get 3 tokens, one for each game challenge? Or is it 1 token for the monthly challenge, any game of the 3 will do? Just want to clarify wording. 😅
Also a good way to burnout and die from stress. 🥲
Current and future fans of Sektori:
The Secret Lives of Games invited me to co-interview the game‘s creator, Kimmo Lahtinen!
If you still can, cut the effects with orange juice or grapefruit. Citrus has been know to dampen the effectiveness of ADHD meds.
Really appreciating the attention to accessibility here. ❤️
Classic.
I’ve been playing too much Sektori, almost thought this was a screenshot from the game. 😅
“Relaxing” 😅
Sektori is one of the best games I’ve played all year. Design perfection, a fantastic soundtrack, it’s almost impossible for me to put down. I need every sicko reading this to play it. For @aftermath.site aftermath.site/sektori-shoo...
Those that like the game, really like the game. The enthusiasm gives me life. It is a very niche game. For people who play _video games_. Also as expected, I can see from the stats that the sub 25 year olds have zero time for this nonsense. It's the embarrassing "dad's tribute band" - the game.
The score screen from an arcade run of Sektori.
Man, I’m still just having so much fun with Sektori. This is such a well polished game.
It’s a hard game! There are evolution cards you can use to get shields. One of them is pay a million points for some shields, which can be rough, but if you’re just looking to clear, who cares. Also, I played around with the accessibility settings to make it easier for me to see in the chaos.
Get it anyway! It’s good!
And because I’m biased, get Sektori on Xbox and get on those Arcade leaderboards. I’m *literally* the only person here…

Anyway, more people need to play Sektori, it’s an incredibly polished package from a long time former Housemarque developer and his very talented musical brother.
It’s a difficult game, but it rewards you the player getting better like classic arcade games did. 🌈🚀❤️
So I will. This is Geometry Wars, Gradius, Ikaruga, Resogun combined with a killed techno soundtrack sounds from peak early 2000s.
I was a huge Beatmania IIDX player back in the day, and I’m reminded of those sick, dirty synth sounds from like IIDX Red.
Y’all. I’ve been playing Sektori all weekend, and for $15, this has been PEAK twin-stick shump.
The game has it all: tight shooting, badass soundtrack, amazing visuals, leaderboards for MANY game modes, skill based unlocks, “just one more run” gameplay loops, I can go on.

Ongaq:Stromatolite by TaQ from 2004 is my absolute, go-to, "I want to focus" album. It's just so good, well-paced, driving, but not overly distracting.
TaQ still easily my favorite Bemani artist from that "era".
