Uh, hello neighbor, yes that was me belting Folsom Prison Blues on my back porch

Just ordered a bass guitar. Not sure if I have an inner bass player or not, but I'm going to find out.
I have to take both Gus and Pan to the veterinary dermatologist/allergist today and they didn't get breakfast so it's gonna be 80-90 minutes of the back of my car sounding like a hybrid production of Les Mis and Cats
Working today on Joni Mitchell's Both Sides Now. She originally played with an open D tuning and capo at IV or V, but the my short scale acoustic guitar's low E string gets floppy when tuned to D, so I've actually tuned to open D# with capo at III. Obvious, yet took me a couple days to think of.
It's quite good for what I wanted it for. I haven't explored its full capabilities by any means (I've only had it a couple of days), but it's extremely portable, the rechargeable battery is great, and the basics are controlled by knobs, not menus.
Oh my, he's that big already ?
Feeling cranky. I need a sandwich and a nap.

It's Electric Guitar on the Porch Day.
There is only one being who can get Bluesky working again.
I have never had okonomiyaki, but now I have to make it. Yours looks delicious!
I didn't touch any grass but I did at least go out to the screen porch where I can smell grass.
As usual, everything negative the far right says about DEI hiring doesn't apply when /they/ do it.
A vintage guitar, possibly a Martin 0-45JB.
I want a short scale bass #guitar, and I was about ready to order a Squier Sonic Bronco Bass when I discovered the existence of the Kala solidbody U-Bass. Anybody got any thoughts? I'm a casual open mic musician.
I do so love this hour before anyone else gets up.
My house drummer (husband): when you're learning a pattern, then yeah, you're thinking about each individual action. But once you've learned it, the pattern is basically processed by your brain as a whole.
In my defense, I also practiced scales and exercises on the acoustic like a responsible adult (well, or as close as I was gonna get, anyway).
I completed an electric guitar rite of passage today: I learned to play the Stairway to Heaven intro.
Shallow stoneware bowl of stir fried translucent noodles, steak, mixed mushrooms, carrots, onions, spinach, and egg ribbon garnish, all over long grain white rice
Japchae (stir-fried noodles) with sirloin. I don't think I've had sweet potato glass noodles before, and I quite liked them.
If I remember right, early testing for the astronaut program subjects them to way, way worse stuff.
I wish I'd bought a water pick years ago.
I was watching from my high school library when the Challenger exploded. I could not watch the Artemis II livestreams before today because I did not want to get attached to those people. I am so relieved they are back on Earth safely.
Found my missing Apple Pencil: it was under the bathroom vanity, with teeth marks in it.
Cringe AF here and proud of it!
So far today I have been fucked over by capitalism, done my household chores with an extra helping, and made two annoying phone calls. I’m still a bit sick, but Retired Man™️ is worse. I’m going to go sit on the screened porch and practice scales against a metronome.
I'm so sorry.
I dunno, I've spilled some beans at the little table off in the corner at a bar (don't they all have one?)
And yes, I realize that if they hadn't decided to switch to RBP, premiums would have skyrocketed (or deductibles and OOP maxes raised). But the real costs remain the same; the employer is just playing hot potato with them.
NB: Do not EVER hire a business CEO (or internal CFO) as a college president. Yes, a good CFO is essential to keep the place solvent; but a president with a deep understanding of academics and commitment to the institution's mission is necessary for balance.
Exactly. A friend of mine had a kid with Crohn's disease who was probably one of the high cost persons.
