A very Happy New Year to all! 🎆

2025 has included some great moments - both for the company and for me personally.

Here's to continuing that trend in 2026: a year that truly excites me to be a technologist given the transformative and impactful point in history we find ourselves in 🚀

The software industry's AI transformation is fascinating.

Still plenty for engineers to do (and that can go wrong if they don't do it), but the empowerment these tools offer is mesmerising.

Much work remains to develop practices for sustained high value output at large scale, but it's exciting!

This week feels like it was 6 weeks long.

Not because it dragged, but because of the pace in which things are moving at the moment.

Many (many!) exciting things in the esports and gaming data world to come this year 💥

When you really take a moment to think about the speed with which LLM-powered tools have been adopted, centrally, into many profession's day-to-day work, it's incredible.

It's not surprising, but it's incredible nonetheless.

The GRID Data Platform processed ~58 million updates across all of its esports content over the last 7 days alone.

Many of those updates update tens of data points in one go.

My recent reading has been mostly focussed around the topics of AI alignment, business leadership and the American revolution (my latest rabbit hole…)

Surprisingly (or maybe not) more overlapping takeaways than I thought to expect.

Finally decided to give @bsky.app a try.

Feels like Twitter in the early (best) days, but with tech underpinnings suited to the future of social media.

I think it’s awesome.
