Good to know! I'll try to get some time off this summer and make a vacation of it!

A bit short notice for a Wednesday night, but maybe I'll make the drive down for a future one!
Live Action One Piece does a really good job of keeping everything that I love from the anime, but tells the story more concisely by cutting out a lot of the filler episodes. They commit fully to not trying to take itself seriously or make anything grounded, and it does it really well.
Obviously I'm a fan of horror ttrpgs, so I'm super excited for this one.
NEW: Ten One-Page Roleplaying Games For Younger Players by @gshowitt.bsky.social
Played by thousands of people all over the world, Grantβs one-page games run the gamut from strange to silly, daft to deadly serious, and powerfully original to potentially copyright-infringing.

Excited to have The Last Hand available at @knaveofcups.com!
People should be listening to more Average Joey.
I make spreadsheets with a column for various bits of the card. Then I import the spreadsheet into a layout program for printing.

Holy vyvanse, I haven't worked on any supplements for The Last Hand since getting meds and wow is it fun and easy to make these. How did I finish and publish a ttrpg without these?
I'm super excited to visit the next time I'm back in the city!
Thank you to Milwaukee Magazine for giving us the opportunity to share our story and give everyone a peek into our new one-of-a-kind gaming destination @milwaukeemag.bsky.social www.milwaukeemag.com/tabletop-boo...
Im jealous, this book is iconic
@themountaingoats.bsky.social would be a great get if he's into it.
I'm finally watching A Knight's Tale for the first time and I understands why medievalists seem to universally love it. Few movies (or books or shows) thread the needle of getting the spirit of the late medieval period onscreen while thoughtfully using anachronism for modern appeal this deftly
Got to play Thieves of the Tome by @dairykillsme.bsky.social and it was an absolute blast. Great unique and innovative mechanics around words and literature. A lot of fun to generate characters, a lot of fun to see what happens as the story unfolds.

The cover of The Land Hand, A Horror Role Playing Game by Eric Faber. The image background looks like wood. The title appears as if stenciled on in white, all caps. The image is a cow skill with two old-timey playing cards next to it
An example from the interior of The Last Hand. A double-page spread shows a dirt road and a building with a sign that says Leon's Store. Over that image appears the title Paradise Colorado 1912 followed by a description of the setting. Below, a list of twelve town landmarks (Leon's Store is one of them)
The cover of It Is Out There, a collection of settings for horror role playing, for use with The Last Hand. The background is a grungy blue brick wall and all the text appears to have been spray-painted on the wall in stencil
An interior example from It Is Out There. Both left and right pages look like a scrapbook with torn fragments of paper placed over photos of the interior of a beautiful old manor house. The scraps of paper are all tables for defining the monster in this setting
Yearning for something scarier? How about Bird Box (2018) x Tremors (1990) in the Old West? Try...

ARRIVING FRIDAY: The Last Hand by @airborneham.bsky.social

A historical survival-horror game set in the ol' west (Paradise, Colorado 1912) that uses a unique (and thematic) Texas Hold 'Em-inspired mechanic to drive the action. Part Wild West drama, part Tremors (1990), part Birdbox (2018)
The Neopets Team claims Geekify Inc. broke the terms of its licensing agreement by publishing a public playtest document in February, which led to criticism, ridicule, and one internal allegation of payment problems on the design team.
i put way too much effort editing this one-off sale video, this is how i enjoy GDC
maybe the funniest thing about the Neopets TTRPG debacle is that i can think of at least twelve designers off the top of my head who could have a playable draft of an incredible Neopets TTRPG done by next month
Unfortunately, the VC hype machine needs to generate infinite value from the magical new technology, so there is a distinct lack of intentionality behind the creation and deployment of new technology, resulting in an abundance of slop generated by stealing real artistβs creations.
Weβve always had some form of generative technology in games. Weβve always had βAIβ controlling the NPCs.
When used as a tool intentionally to create curated experiences with artistic vision, these forms of automation are not explicitly bad.
I think this piece I wrote about Procedural Generation is very relevant with the rise of AI being used as a marketing term to describe anything and everything not hand-curated.
Yeah that tracks haha
Why do I have to pretend that I'm going to print something in order to save it as a PDF. Why do I have to engage in a little ruse.
