SO TRUE
There are apparently like 45 copies of this one, so hopefully not a two year wait 😬

Not my normal gene but recommended by a very trusted friend.
Put in a library hold today and I'm apparently 544th in the queue, which might be an all time record for me.
Exactly!
I love using the superhero genre for examples of layering stakes with differing levels of intensity. Like Spider-Man on a given day might be dealing with a city-destroying event, a major breakup, and his term paper.
So much conflict without feeling like we're constantly dialed up to 11.
I am once again recommending Ayumi's art.

when you love blorbo but blorbo is owned by one of the most evil conglomerates on earth but also the stuff made for blorbo is made by real people putting love and work into it but also they're probably underpaid but also they probably still wanna keep their jobs 😔
Listening to MARINA because I'm recording an episode with Eden tonight.
She's an NPC because I'm GMing but she'll be there.
Sometimes you hit your stride while writing and it feels like when you're cutting wrapping paper and get the scissors to just glide.
I swear I still get residual "finals week" stress years later.

Citizenship: Notes on an American Myth by Daisy Hernández
Such a timely nonfiction read that offers a nuanced exploration of the concept of citizenship against the backdrop of the authors own experiences and the current political climate. Also discusses the intersection with queerness.
Happy #WeNeedDiverseBooksDay!
I've been trying to be better at shouting out diverse reads year round, but here's a little thread of recent favorites I haven't talked about on here yet.

Best recommendation is to be patient with yourself because it's a process. I'm happy to talk through things if I can help at all ❤️
My experience is definitely more emotional/mental burnout than physical. But also get managing the ADHD is hard. I think it's all a lot of trial and error figuring out where your energy burn is, what you can prioritize and balance, learning to direct the ADHD energy etc. It's hard ❤️
So valid. Have definitely done some retail therapy to cope with publishing as well. Enjoy your new bags!
