I have rapidly grown to DESPISE this sentence structure. It gives me an actual visceral reaction of disgust.
I don't have this sort of reaction at all to the em dash in general, but that's probably just because I've always loved and (over)used them myself, so I can't accept them as "an AI thing."

The premise is flawed — streaming isn’t convenient anymore. When it came out, it was. But the act of putting a DVD or CD in a player is way more convenient than wading through multiple services to find what you’re looking for, finding out it’s not included in your tier, and dealing with commercials.

As a young PC gamer in the 80s/early 90s, I got my games on disks, but heard rumors of C64 games coming on casette tape.
I was mystified by this and assumed it meant an audio casette with someone *reading the code aloud* and you’d listen and program the game yourself.
