Oh my Godzilla...I feel this in my soul. I am so tired of seeing the "I hate [X]" or "I used to love it, but now I hate it" posts, no matter the fandom. It reeks of "pick me" energy and I'm at a point where I automatically mute or even block accounts that post nothing but that dreck.

Yes. Sometimes both simultaneously. 🙂 Even in the most real world setting, I always end up adding some fictional elements, including places.
It definitely has achieved a certain niche in pop culture, with the most recent movie, BG3, Critical Role/Vox Machina/Mighty Nein, etc., but it is still pretty niche. Does that make sense?
