Barcelona, 11 August 2025, 5:30 AM. I have lived all my life here and it is the highest temperature I have ever seen on this date and time. We are all going to die... soon.
Excuse me, @crbclassical.bsky.social, but whose Second?

You always get what you give, even if you are a genocidal political leader.
When something happens and people ask why or how, just answer this question: "Were there human beings involved in it?". If the answer is yes, then you know why and how...
I don't use to make political claims, but, guys, during the last three years it has been going out of control a bit too much everywhere. Anyway, for people like me with no faith and no hope (just with curiosity) it does not come as a surprise, though.

Death even before the funeral march. Barenboim does a good job on the other symphonies, except the Ninth, slow as hell, and this one, unbearable. I have my issues with the Eroica, though: about 20 years ago I listened to it by chance three times in a week and I got fed up of it almost for ever.
It is not a bad performance or recording, it is just painfully slow. Getting "the Joy" should be easier.
Beethoven, the German composer.
Mozart, the Austrian composer.
Poulenc, the French composer.
Copland, the American composer.
Mahler, the..., well, Mahler, you know...
I said nothing, Maurice. Keep going...😴
Some works are so, let's say, boring I don't understand why musicians don't fall asleep while they are performing them.
My insider millennial (or boomer, I'm from 1980, make the math) asked me to buy a brand new player to listen to my completely forgotten CD collection. And now I have acquired more stuff and I am discovering new composers: Antheil (great), Lyatoshynsky (interesting), Myaskovsky (need more listening).
'Morning.
