Every one of these bigotry-driven anti-American laws is the fruit of the nyt’s activist anti-trans campaigning, which spread falsehoods and legitimised hate.

There’s nothing I want more than to be able grow a clone of myself, minus the SRY gene, in a vat and then transfer my consciousness in. Is that too much to ask??

Just a reminder: the only reason why a lot of things are called "disorders" is because the traits associated with them aren't accepted or encouraged by society.

Autism is a beautiful thing, & in another (better) society, it'd be appreciated & accomodated for more.

Happy Autism Awareness Month!!

Anyone surprised by what the government is doing to trans inmates has clearly never paid attention not just to the prison system but America as a whole.
1) the prison system has always treated prisoners as sub human
2) america never disagreed with the Nazis and even hired their scientists (1/2)

This is a great start, but more needs to be done to address the hospitals which have bended to Trump’s pressure and ended care anyway, in contravention to CA’s discrimination laws.

Is all this going to also result in state restrictions for affirming therapists being severed from youth transition bans? Somehow, I think not.

The law is an ass.

Was self harming over rejection, which is the opposite of acceptance.

JK Rowling is calling women athletes men even after they pass genetic testing. People in her replies are talking about these women having “ambiguous” genitalia. We are in an extremely frightening moment for ALL women thanks to transphobia.

I want it on record that anytime I post a bunch of depressing political stuff the message isn’t that we’re doomed it’s that there are countless opportunities to act against something doing harm.

We’re only doomed if individuals don’t take those opportunities.

6. The predictable impact of this law will itself be used to further argue for outlawing trans care. When doctors start dropping their patients and trans people flee the state without another word, they’ll be statistically counted as “detransitioners” to build a false case that most desist.

5. Mandating detransition coverage from insurers is, at best, a red herring, at worst, a sneaky, unsatisfiable trap. This is because transition care already includes detransition care. They’re both diagnoses of gender dysphoria. Will arbitrarily doubling premiums meet the legal demand?

4. Medical data with be used to collectively harass trans people. A list of all co-morbidities, which trans people all have, same as cis people, will be thrown like red meat to the snapping jaws of the ignorant who don’t understand correlation /= causation.

3. Associated medical data will be used to individually harass those identified. Specifics about which procedures are being pursued at which providers will allow them to be tracked in the real world. Public lists of their unrelated medical issues used to discriminate for work, public services, etc.

2. Every trans person who lives outside the half-dozen or so biggest counties will be identifiable from public data. This is due to the combination of county-specific data with several other identifiers such as age. Easily done by any nefarious researcher. These people are in immediate danger.

1. Physicians who provide trans care have to list their name and practice. No small town doctor can endure this due to the torrent of harassment. Vanderbilt’s trans clinic (now shut down) had to have a security guard on site full time, and they often went remote appointments only due to threats.

Bill to track transgender Tennesseans passes the House The state House passed legislation Thursday that would compile data on trans Tennesseans.

When the little fascist who wrote this bill says being transgender “will fall out of fashion,” it’s less a prediction and more a statement of intent.

Here’s the practical effect of this soon-to-be-law:

A sweeping Idaho bill would criminalize transgender bathroom use in private businesses At least 19 states, including Idaho, already have laws barring transgender people from using bathrooms and changing rooms that align with their gender in schools and, in some cases, other public place...

The goal is pretty simple America. Lock up transgender Americans and throw away the key. It started with sports, went to Goverment bathrooms. Now it's privately owned bathrooms. You know what's next. Being in public as a transgender person will be illegal.

I don’t want to jeopardize that slim a chance by wasting another drop of effort on backing up those who abandon us.

I’m hoping I’ll feel better in the morning.

Fuck these people.

Maybe I want someone to talk me out of this despair. To tell me I’m being too hopeless.

The truth, though, is that I refuse to give up hope. But that hope lives in ever narrowing confines.

Surviving this seems like it will be unimaginably hard.

What do we do then?

We prepare to care for ourselves and our own. The goal is survival. Survival scrounged from scraps. Survival hidden as much as possible from the obsessive, crazed panopticon of cis society.

Because not only won’t they save us. They won’t leave us alone.

What’s happening in Kansas and Idaho and states like that is, sure, further along that road already. But NY shows us that even those few politicians who promise us the support are empty. Our efforts to support them in turn are wasted, in vain.

This is what @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social has taught me.

4 weeks ago 0 0 1 0

No one is going to save us.

I don’t believe we’ve had a clearer signal than what’s happening right now in NY that it’s time to circle wagons. Half the world is in a crazed frenzy to rip trans peoples’ lives to pieces while the other half averts their eyes.

We are entering a dark age.
