Tonight’s viewing was Vampire’s Kiss (1989). A bonkers Nic Cage performance - truly the Cagiest Cage that ever Caged. Not the expected cheesy vampire flick, though, but a smart, funny, preposterous and unhinged depiction of toxic masculine delusion and abusive misogynistic power dynamics. Who knew!

Thanks for this rec! I hadn’t heard the album before. It’s sooooo beautiful.
I never really appreciated the subtlety of that fleeting look until I saw The Wicker Man on the big screen. Such a good performance.
It appears the Wild West town is only two or three miles from the village where I grew up. Never had a clue it was there.
Today’s beautiful thing!
Ooh, a coincidence that we went out earlier meaning to buy primroses to plant. Didn’t find any! Came back with pansies, saxifrage, photinia and cyanothus.

I’m the world’s most reluctant gardener, but we cleared away some dead stuff today and I was persuaded to go along to a garden shop and choose some pretty things to plant.
I’ve only ever heard sad or bad things about it from people I know who used to live there. My strongest memory of it is watching some sort of tribute band performing “Dude Looks Like A Lady” at a festival so I genuinely try to avoid it too.
I’ve been there three times - twice by mistake! The third time was probably also a mistake, though it was on purpose.

And here’s another for the #jyportraitchallenge. Neocolors in a Moleskine sketchbook.

Ha ha! I bought one for my mother during the horrorshow of 5 years ago and remember it being impossible to stop the constant sliding. Industrial strength superglue, maybe!
How to stop sliding down in bed with one of those, though, unless you also put one under your knees?
Such a miracle fix, though on the first try I did throw up a bit. Now to recover from the back pain and tiredness caused by trying to sleep propped up. Experimenting in vain with every possible pillow configuration. 😆
Grateful to the late Dr John Epley for his magical manoeuvre, which made my horrible positional vertigo go away. It felt so awful the first time I tried it that it took me 3 days to be brave enough to try again.
¡Feliz dia del padre! Espero que no esté lloviendo.

My comment inevitably brought out the sanctimonious opinion-havers, somewhat proving my point.
He seems excessively hated, imo

Thank you ❤️
Absolutely!
Gouache painting of a young dark-haired woman sitting with her arms crossed over her knees. She’s wearing a white long-sleeves blouse with black polka dots and sheer tights.
Really enjoyed my first time painting from a reference on the #jyportraitchallenge. Gouache 7” x 9”
