As People Ridicule GPT-5, Sam Altman Says OpenAI Will Need 'Trillions' in Infrastructure Despite recent embarrassments, the OpenAI CEO's attitude appears to be: Onward and upward!

"Wouldn’t trillions of dollars be better spent, like, helping the poor or improving our educational system?"

Threads is optimizing for engagement, and it's working. My IG followers can easily find me. My posts get a ton of replies, likes, and reposts. But it feels a lot like Twitter. Every time I open it, I get angry and stressed out. Bluesky is not that way. But it also feels like shouting into the void.

I was in the dark place this week. This book helped! A lot! Page-turnery escapism with a masterful POV. Victorian Psycho by Virginia Feito.

How the fuck are we supposed to sit at our desks and do capitalism when the government is attacking our cities and sending people to concentration camps?

Musk vows to start a third party. Funding’s no issue, but there are others. Musk’s outrage over Trump’s signature legislation fuels a pledge to rejoin the political fray, despite the wounds he’s taken and the poor electoral record of mavericks.

You mean like the fact that he doesn't believe in anything?

Whatever you are reading, stop and read this instead. Holy shit, this book! @sgj.bsky.social is a master at the top of his game. I listened to the audiobook and the narrators were PERFECT.

Nothing communicates how “left” and “right” are meaningless now more than that ALL of the poorest and least educated counties shifted right in the last 3 elections. ALL of the wealthiest and most educated counties shifted *left.*

With all the planes dropping from the sky, I am reminded of @paultremblay.bsky.social's Cabin at the End of the World. I'm sure it will be fine.

Everything about this is a tragedy, every level, from cheated freelancers to authors obscured to readers who don’t get served either.

Finished @chuckwendig.bsky.social's The Staircase in the Woods over the weekend. It was a creepy good time! Related: Why are so many horror authors from Bucks County, PA? Something in the quarry water? As a Levittown kid, it was fun recognizing all the places in the book.

Hard agree.

It's amazing to think how many people had to agree that the change was a good idea in the first place.
