My house is clean. My suitcase is packed. I’ve printed everything we need for band.
I have exhausted my procrastination options.
1000 words to write, and 5 hours left.

Very exciting post day! 👀
Sourdough bread, chorizo cubes, halved cherry tomatoes, a fried egg and lots of olive oil
I have a 2500 word essay to write in the two days.
10 hours sleep, a good breakfast consumed, and a pomodoro timer at the ready.
Let’s do this ✍🏻
💡 Wrote a briefing for our Perm Sec about Share
💡 Caught up with Scot Gov colleagues to complete their final onboarding details
💡 Made good progress on my uni assignments that are due next week
💡 Made a couple of new connections with other service owners
Finally, time for the break I’ve been looking forward to for months!
It’s been a productive final pre-hol week:
💡 Kicked off our Share reusability discovery
💡 Spoke with Welsh LAs about onboarding to Share and how we’ll support them through transition
💡 Qtrly development chats with my reports
Linz 🇦🇹 for the European championships!
And then a few recovery days at home, before a week in Rome and Sorrento with my other half 🥰
1 day until I take the longest break I’ve had in 10 years (three entire weeks)!
So naturally my calendar is filling up with lots of last minute meetings before I go 🤣
Thank you!
Thank you mate! Hope you’re on the mend ❤️🩹
Eek, we got in! Time to start writing the talk…
We’re interested in talking to colleagues across Government who might want to use Share for new projects and services - please get in touch!
- protect data through a multi-layered permissions model that only shares what users need for their particular role
- search and edit records in a simple browser-based UI
- download data to csv
... and there's lots more to come 🛠️
A flavour of what Share can do:
- ingest data in a variety of source formats
- data transformation and reformatting using databricks
- share data securely with all local authorities in England and Scotland, and soon Wales
I’m back on the MHCLG blog today, talking about how we in-sourced our system for Homes for Ukraine and what we learned along the way 💙💛 mhclgdigital.blog.gov.uk/2026/04/09/f...
Thank you for all the responses!
Lots of Kobo fans here, and I’m particularly excited to have a device that I can sync library books to 😍
I’m going to finish all the books I already had downloaded on my kindle, and then go shopping!
Ooh this is fab 😍 thank you for sharing what you’ve found
My 2012 Kindle is going out of support 😭
Any recommendations for a (preferably non-Amazon) replacement?
Ha it wasn’t yours! But it was someone else’s full name, DOB and NINO 😬
I was one of the unfortunate users who found and reported the bug 🫣
They must have been so annoyed someone spotted it in that 35 minute window 😅

The perfect bank holiday weekend with my guy 💚

Looking down over the beach at Torquay. The sky is blue with horizontal clouds. At the forefront is the grey stone wall that separates the walkway from the beach
Annual visit to Torquay. This afternoon we compete for the West of England title 🤞🏻
Just a few hours before I get to take my first week off for 5 months.
Nobody but myself to blame; I messed up my admin and ran out of holiday.
Doing such a long stint in a high pressure role has taught me a lot about leading without losing myself. I’m tired, I need a break, but I’m not burnt out 😌
Cheltenham races are a nuisance if you’re a local, but they’re excellent for people watching/spot who’s been to the races games.
When in Scotland.. 😄
Go for it!
👀
Hopefully some blog posts coming soon about what we’ve been working on..
SDinGov pitch submitted 🤞🏻
