But some of the history of homophobia as a β€œdisease” goes even further. In the 1970s, Swedish activists called in β€œsick” to work because they felt β€œgay.” This activism led to Sweden being the first country to remove the classification of homosexuality as a diseases in 1979, 11 years before the WHO.

Yesterday was #IDAHOBIT - International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, & Transphobia - and it was frustrating to see hateful comments from fellow union members who fail to understand why this day exists.
