The irony of American special forces killing people for narco-terrorism is so lazy even the onion wouldn't have ran with it.
Let us make this the weekend of unsubscribe as all the flood of advertisements come into your inbox.
Wrote an update to my series on Rust/C++ interop here including a full working example: tylerjw.dev/posts/202510...
I do think there is a good case to be made for just using sqlite or maybe turso and get on with building your app on top of that if you don't care to implement the db yourself.
After long conversations with a friend who works for a company that makes an event sourcing db I sat down and wrote one. I'm excited to explore the space by trying to use my own db. Before you ask, I have no plans to open-source it.

I wrote a short blog post about some thoughts and experiences I had at RustConf this last week.

Almost Always use Values... C++ is hard enough to reason about without making everything a ref-counted pointer.

Anyone know any effective way we can make officers of companies pay who fail to secure the databases of information they keep on us?
I'm sorry. Know we are all rooting for you and love what you are doing with the onion.

Some PR person with a straight face came up with this line. Either they are completely out of their mind or they want this guy dead.

It has been a while since I've been on your blog and I love the redesign. I'm also sad about eggbug. This place seems nice though.
I've been told this many times. Yet someone keeps paying me to write more Rust, I have to assume they are using what my team is building or they wouldn't keep paying us.
Holy shit, that was a ride. Thank you for writing it all down. Now you have me wondering what an anarchist/feminist PL development process would be. I hope you find some rest after writing and reliving all that.
"Safety in an Unsafe World" by Joshua Liebow-Feeser at #rustconf24 blew my mind!
You can statically prevent deadlocks in Rust, by making them a compile error?! Sign me up!

[I]f any man aspires to the office of overseer... An overseer, then, must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, skillful in teaching, not overindulging in wine, not a bully, but gentle, not contentious, free from the love of money.
I'm a big fan of not making your whole program a giant ball of intertwined state... the best invariants are the ones you don't have.
If you are debating white box testing, have you considered writing free functions instead?
