Hi Joel - Thanks for letting us know. Turns out there was a setting DEEEEEEP inside Google that I hadn't turned on. Should work now! Cheers, JD
If all it took was to make these predictions, I too could call myself The New Nostradamus.

Screenshot of a conversation interface showing an image of black kitchen utensils and a text exchange. The top portion contains the original image of six black silicone utensils. Below is a user message asking for alt text, followed by Claude's response describing the utensils. The interface includes a copy button, retry button, and thumbs up/down feedback options. A decorative orange asterisk icon appears in the bottom left corner, with a note about Claude's potential mistakes at the bottom.
One of my favourite use-cases for AI is to generate ALT-Text for images that I post on the web. Claude does an excellent job of analysing images. Check out the Alt-Text for the image below.
It's Alt-Text all the way down.
"A year ago, GPT-4 felt like a glimpse of the future. Now it's basically running on phones ... This isn't steady progress - we're watching AI take uneven leaps past our ability to easily gauge its implications."
In Australia, Boxing Day is usually spent recovering from a food coma and watching either the Boxing Day Test (cricket) or the Start of the Sydney Hobart yacht race. If neither of these things appeal to you, why don't you listen to the latest episode of On The Reg podcast?
Ping @thesiswhisperer.bsky.social - looks interesting.
Inger is a fan of giving people the ‘illusion of choice’ - by giving 3 options they think they are in control, but really, you have reduced their options from ‘whenever’ to three specific dates.
Get in front of it and control the decisions otherwise their lack of planning will become your emergency.
Also, don’t wait. Create a sense of urgency by going on the front foot: “I know we need to work together, but my calendar is filling fast. I’m down to 3 available spots - which of these work for you and I’ll lock it away. The longer we leave this the less likely I’ll be able to fit your preference”
Can you give me an example of the kind of thing you mean?
Got out of bed today? That’s a WIN.
Brushed your teeth? WIN. Took a breath and tried again? LEGENDARY.
Depression makes every step feel impossible, but you are still moving.
THAT’S HEROIC. 🛡️🔥
I just had one of those "Holy Crap" moments. I experimented with Google's Gemini AI to create a video from one of my documents. It took the content of the document, suggested scenes in the video, put in transition and other effects, suggested a script and narrated the script over the top. 90 seconds
Woot! Thanks for listening! That’s amazing! Recording the last ep for the season shortly - stay tuned! 😊

I’ve been following Nick Bloom’s work for a few years. He’s always been a strong promoter of WFH benefits.
I can’t imagine ever going back to the soul-crushing commute.
This is brilliant. Man creates animated stick figure on the streets of Toronto by repeatedly going for runs in his neighbourhood and tracking his runs with an app.

That’s brilliant!
Amazing session today with the School of Communications and Arts at University of Queensland. Our session was in the old Customs House building. Fancy!
We are recording on Monday! You want have to wait long at all! :-)
I’ll give that a go! Thanks!

Flying to Brisbane this morning for a workshop with University of Queensland. I always seem to struggle sleeping the night before I travel. Last night was no exception.
Tips on how to combat the inability to sleep are welcomed.
"An Apple Music playlist interface showing 'James Bond Essentials' in the Film, TV & Stage category. The image features a stylized purple album cover with the iconic James Bond gun barrel spiral design in lighter purple shades and 'James Bond' text in white. The interface includes a description mentioning the franchise's longevity from Sean Connery to Daniel Craig, along with Play and Shuffle buttons in red. The Apple Music logo appears at the top."
What better soundtrack to help me imagine all the admin I'm doing today is more *exciting* than it really is?
I feel conflicted about liking this post. But I did it anyway. 😘
Congratulations! Huge achievement! Welcome to The Academy, Doctor!
@lynneguist.bsky.social Hi Lynne! I just listened to your episode on the OmniShow podcast. Thanks for the shout out! I hope you are doing well!

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of working with the ECRs from the Monash Law School. We took a tactical look at what we can do in the day-to-day maelstrom of work to gain some control over our day.
Today, I've consciously decided to revisit my amount of Work in Progress and renegotiate. #calm
Hi - sorry, I’ve been off the socials for a little bit. We haven’t done one exclusively on service, but I’ll add it to the schedule! Thanks for listening! 🙏🏻
