The UK is looking at delinking gas and electricity prices, to cut consumers’ bills in response to the fossil fuel energy shock caused by Trump’s attack on Iran.

NZ could do this too.

True, but unless you're going to research what it does from scratch, the name is essential for finding out what it does. And also for telling others when you've finished your own research. #Taxonomy

Our family lived here, on Wright St in #Wellington #NewZealand, for 4 years. Those are my neighbours. Anyone in a position of power or influence you hear on the news using the word ‘unprecedented’ deserves…opprobrium. At a minimum. #ClimateChange

A white-bearded 81-year-old in a bush shirt signing books.

Yesterday I was one of a crowd attending the launch of Hugh Wilson's latest book, Hinewai Reflections—his collected botanical illustration. Hugh signed books and chatted with a long queue of fans.

Watching the rain radar tonight. All ok in Paekākāriki? It seems to be slowly moving south.

Update from Hutt City FB page: The river is rising quickly. They are closing both Kennedy Good and Melling bridges overnight and not reopening until they've been assessed by engineers in the morning. Get home, sooner rather than later. Roads are already closing.

What I would say to you is it’s HR’s job to know who the staff are.

Yes. My guess is there's no funding for a central website, so they run it as a Facebook page instead. Only a guess though.

Why is New Zealand still posting emergency information on a social media site that not everyone belongs to?

the pope is correct about the war bc he is correct on the merits and not because he is the pope likewise Trump is wrong about the war on the merits and not bc heads of state should never criticize religious leaders or engage in blasphemy which is actually fine thank you for coming to my ted talk

I think a list of Nat/ACT/NZF actions that mirror Trump’s would be a long list and might surprise some New Zealanders.

#NZ Science funding policy

Science offers great benefits, but to get it you want to fund basic science as widely as you can, stably, not only "commercialise". You can later *add* support for focus topics, not at the expense of basic research.

This outlines similar concerns I have previously, 1/3

It’s not that these people still exist. That’s just biology. It’s that they are still being paid to shit in their own hands & start clapping.
