When I was a child I assumed that mimicking Lumière’s French accent meant I was speaking French. I’ve since learned better yet am once again unsure.

You're always included, no matter the introduction.
There was a very deliberate effort to make the cast more diverse and tackle socially important topics. As Don points out in the latest post, in this issue characters dispel rumors about HIV/AIDS, advocate for refugees, champion adoption, and point out how kids like Keith suffer from inequality...
Superman: The Man of Steel #39 (December 1994)
"DEAD AGAIN!" Part 5! A Very Special issue about Keith and his mom, plus the "return" of (what's left of) Lex Luthor. Also, wow, look at that cover.

Trying to square my love of local, and my trust in the people I know who work there with the idea of being charged a $7 per seat convenience fee for buying Broadway Theatre tickets in person. I still did it but it feels weird. At least I dodged the $2.50 per ticket online fee, no, I’m not kidding.
There is simply no explaining the Konig verdict. The defense was a trainwreck start to finish.
It seems like the whole world is a competition of who can yawn the loudest.
You had me at "tries to blow up a prostitute".
Tiger Woods was super good at something really boring for five years twenty years ago. Now he is really good at not using his endless wealth to hire a driver.
Good news: I drew a sketchbook piece of Power Girl that I was really happy with. Bad news: the cover was opened and resting on a crumb from an onion ring so now my sketchbook is grease stained.
Wholesomeness is my rebellion.
The back of the page where it bled through looks almost as cool as the front!
A stunning comic marker drawing of Supergirl by gifted artist and renowned bodybuilder Don Sparrow
I may never work for @dc.com but part of me will always want to. Here’s a maid of might from the sketchbook tonight. Up, up and away!
For me, How Chee! My buddy the great @craigsilliphant.bsky.social made a documentary about a beloved late night tv commercial that has lived on through VHS and the internet. I got to draw the poster, and it was super fun to work on. Everyone should go see this film!
Gorgeous
Cop: Can you describe the man who stabbed you?
Me: He kept going like this [stabbing motion]
So passes the greatest living actor (in my opinion). Robert Duvall was never anything but authentic in every role. So many of his great performances (Gus McRae in Lonesome Dove, Mac Sledge in Tender Mercies, The Apostle EF in The Apostle) were family favourites. May he rest in peace.
And one day, under his tutelage, those skaters shall kill Superman
The world seems so much more hopeful with a belly full of steak.
For Liam.

I do catastrophize too much, but in my defense, this is a catastrophe.
I hate it when I uncover an ancient artifact that grants me extraordinary powers only to discover that I am now a pawn in an eternal cosmic battle between the forces of light and darkness
Robert McGinnis had an incredible sense of design, which made him perfectly suited for film posters--but there's an oddness to the expressions of his non-theatrical subjects. Not so with Elvgren. My fave stuff is the tamer, Coca-Cola cowboys and baseball players, but it's all so good.
Looking at old paintings by the great commercial illustrators (Buell, Moran, Petty, Sundblom, Ballantyne, etc ) and I think what sets Elvgren apart, and why his profile remains so large isn't necessarily the skill with paint, or the poses--it's how beautiful his faces are.
Sketchbook tonight…
Festivus: still not funny.
