AI can help fix this. I’m a community college professor and I believe that is one reason why many of my colleagues who give essay assignments are so afraid of AI. They won’t have anything left to grade student essays on. (Excuse me. They won’t have anything left on which to grade students.)

Yes we do that too. At my school are struggling to come up with an AI policy. AI is good at explaining things you know nothing about (like an after-visit summary from a sick relative’s doctor’s appointment) but getting students not to substitute AI for their own work is most difficult.

I agree for the most part when you are supposed to be creating new work. But when you are have already created your work, and you need it to be evaluated before submitting, ChatGPT can be helpful identifying stuff you might have missed.
