Oh wow, I grew up in Western NC and there was a college station that played everything from the Smiths to Carcass so that was rad. Came to Raleigh in 91 for school and got hella into indie stuff. Worked at WKNC and turned that into a 5 year stint at Relapse. Then moved back here in 02.

I guess I was metal out of the gate (1st cassette was Pyromania) and then just put genres under my belt as time went by. Def had a lot of HC in my diet thanks to Thrasher mag in the 80s. But indie rock and indie pop are always near and dear. Just anything that elicits emotions come by honestly.

Businesses behave so as to protect their bottom line. When they do “the right thing” it’s because of us
