Our team received a report of intermittent app outages at about 11:40pm PDT on April 15, 2026. They worked through the night to mitigate a sophisticated Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attack, which intensified throughout the day.

On web, you can now search without your mouse! Press "/" to focus on the search field, and use your up/down keys to move through the results.
Up/down also works when you mention someone with "@" in a post.
We also fixed bugs like feeds not refreshing and threads jumping on scroll.

Bot labels are here. If you run an automated account, you can now mark it as such in your account settings. The label will show up on your profile and posts so people know what's a bot and what's not.

An error caused a large number of accounts to be incorrectly "marked for review" by our automated system. This tool is normally used to rapidly respond to mass harassment and spam campaigns. We have removed the incorrect labels and will publish an incident report in the coming days.

This experimental feature lets you add a temporary LIVE badge to your avatar, helping others discover that you're currently live-streaming on Twitch. They can click it to land directly on your stream page.
If you want to change Bluesky’s default moderation settings, go to your moderation settings on the web - bsky.app/moderation. Apple limits adult-content controls inside iOS apps, so you won’t see those options on the iPhone app itself. 1/2

Plus, we fixed some bugs and laid the groundwork for improved "who to follow" suggestions in the near future.
We're announcing a new partnership with StopNCII.org to prevent non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII) from spreading on Bluesky. While NCII hasn't been frequent on our platform, these incidents are devastating for victims and preventing them is a top safety priority. 1/4
