This isn't US bashing, it's aimed squarely at Canadians. We built an economy on convenience and status-quo assumptions, not resilience. When conditions changed, dependency became weakness. It’s realism and strategic signalling ahead of trade talks. www.youtube.com/watch?v=uk2T...

Only in Canada!
The Liberals, Conservatives, and the Bloc all agreed to reallocate some of their funding to the NDP to help them function until the next election.
Damn, I am glad I live in a functioning democracy!

CBC just caught Loblaw Companies Limited and Sobeys overcharging for underweight meat… again.
Same issue. A year later. Fixed only after CBC showed up.
So ask yourself:
Without CBC Investigates… who’s catching this?

I have been putting a scoop of chicory root when I brew my 1 cup of coffee in the morning to help stretch my coffee. I really like the combo flavour. The Silk Road is a Canadian spice shop that carries chicory root, and has an online store.

In France, legislation came into effect recently for all car parks that have over 80 spaces to be covered with solar panels. Estimated to add around 11GW of renewable energy capacity to the national grid. Why not do likewise in Scotland? Braehead, Silverburn, Glasgow Fort etc.
What a good idea!

University of Waterloo is leaving Twitter. We need all Canadian colleges and universities to do the same if they're still there. The Canadian social site Gander would be a good option. 🍁

I understand everyone has an opinion, if you as a parent want to protect your child, don’t allow them on social media. At the same time, I do think harms to social media MUST be taught in school starting at an early age, it should be part of the curriculum. We need to protect our children.
I agree, I also think there is enough adults who also do not understand the harms coupled with misinformation/disinformation so utilizing our tax paid CBC to educate and share latest trends of disinformation could be helpful.
Uncovered documents show the RCMP was not just watching Indigenous leaders in the 1970s, but developing policies that allowed it to actively disrupt political organizing.
Reporter Brett Forester reveals how a “native extremism” policy authorized surveillance aimed at Indigenous resistance.
If you watch this from their perspective that once a girl has her period, her worth is only a baby making machine and education is a waste, you can see how seriously f'd up many US citizens are. This is a growing perspective and pushed by Christian Nationalist / many Evangelical groups.
This is one of the worst planning decisions I’ve ever seen a Canadian city do. This was “the Playbook” to a tee, weaponizing the words “blanket zoning.” Embarrassing for Calgary Council. The Mayor then adds insult to staff & years of good faith work by claiming it “broke the public’s trust.”
Awful.
