I’ve worked in food safety for bakeries over 35 years. Bleaching doesn’t help. Salmonella is not killed in low water activity environments. It survives and then grows in the gut. It’s an infection not an intoxication. This is why it’s an issue in peanut butter and chocolate, which are low Aw.
