This doesn't sound like a big deal to me. I wasn't expecting credits in the manual (did they EVER do that in the 90s?) and I think it's natural to have the rerelease credits there now.

The original Game Boy dominated the handheld market until the Game Boy Color came out in late 1998.

The PlayStation game came out in 1995. The Game Boy port came out a year later in 1996. 🙂
