Sometimes, the hardest thing is to turn inward and ask the big questions: What kind of art do I truly want to create? Who do I want to be?

Letting go of outside expectations wasn’t easy, but it’s where I found my voice—both as an artist and as a person

My art mirrors my journey—peeling back layers of expectation to find strength in authenticity. Layer by layer, it’s about embracing the complex and imperfect. Not perfection, but depth, connection, and creating something that resonates on a soul level.

Creating A Breath of Fresh Air was a turning point—letting the painting lead instead of forcing my will. When I hung it in my studio, it felt like a calming breeze blowing through, clearing my mind and filling the space with peace.

Seeing someone connect with my artwork is one of the most rewarding parts of being an artist. 💛 Watching this collector take it all in—a quiet moment of reflection—reminds me why I pour my heart into every piece.

Who do I want to be? ✨
My abstract work reflects the courage to ask this question and go deeper. For so long, I shaped myself around places I lived or others' expectations. But art taught me to dig within—to find my truest self, not for anyone else, but for me. 💛

For years, I thought I wasn’t good enough to paint abstract. Then I gave myself permission to create without rules, and these vibrant pieces emerged. The moment I let go of doubt, I found my voice. 💫

It can be used to print on, if you get the paper that has been treated for printing. I know several photographers who use it. I’ve heard it can be tricky to work with though

I love the texture of mulberry paper (washi) 🤩 It is my favourite material to work with especially now that I can make it myself 😊

'Inner Bloom' up close.

Every layer, every swirl, and every drop of color tells a piece of the story.

This piece is about the quiet journey of self-discovery—the beauty that emerges when we let our true selves rise to the surface.

Why did I move from figurative to abstraction?

For so long, I felt the weight of needing to be "perfect," constantly conforming to others' expectations. Then, I realized I needed to explore who I wanted to be, beyond anyone else's standards.

That’s when abstract art called to me—it’s freedom.

It looks like it's glowing 🤩 is that because of the long exposure?

"Why do I create art?"
Well… I thought I knew… then I wasn’t so sure… and now? I’m all in again! 😂
Art has a funny way of pulling you back, even when you think you’re done. It’s a journey with twists, turns, and a whole lot of heart. 💖

That is awesome, thanks for sharing. I love that you took the time to work through it by painting and that you kept going until everything clicked 👍

After months of shows and visitors, I realized I hadn’t painted in ages. It felt like starting all over again.
Self-doubt kicked in, so, I turned to my go-to reset: my ‘no judgment’ series. Small panels, no rules, no pressure. Just me and the art.

'Rising from the Depth' (30"x30") is all about those hidden pieces of ourselves, gently surfacing and shimmering in the light.

The textures and colors come alive up close—almost like catching a glimpse of secrets rising to the surface.
What do you see?

🎤 A little glimpse into why I create.

Art, for me, is more than just colors on canvas...
