We’re allowed to dye our hair fun colors at the zoo. Won’t be for a while, obviously, because important things first. But it HAS been a while since I’ve dyed my hair a fun color. Any thoughts on what color? Probably would only do a strip or chunk, not my whole head.

First pay won’t be till next week, which sucks… Got to know a few coworkers as we walked the zoo and had lunch. Need to buy a lock, lockers are first come, first serve each day, bring your own lock. Discounts to special events. I’ll work 4-5 days a week, 7-9 hours on average. I really can’t wait!

Now that I can focus a little more (Izzy was demanding love as soon as I got in), I’m really excited about this job! They even gave us free lunch today! We got a quick tour of the zoo so I finally (briefly) saw the lion cub. The pay got raised between interviews and today, so it’s $16 an hour!

First real day is Thursday. Today wasn’t bad. Some really good people!

I’m so nervous about my orientation tomorrow.

But I could never handle going up and down the mountains constantly for groceries or other bigger needs. I get too nervous. My dad had me try to drive part of our last visit there, when we were in the civil war reenactment, and I had a panic attack. Had to pull over and swap seats. It’d never work.

It’s small, more touristy shops than real shops. Some restaurants but nothing huge. What I’d really love is to give tours of the Washoe Club, which is said to be haunted. It was something I did twice on my first trip there because I fell in love with the place. I really genuinely would love it.

I fell in love with it in 2015, when I first went to Nevada. I love ghosts and history behind old cities like that. It’s fascinating. And the views are incredible. I just know I’d never survive with living in mountains that way. And finding a job would be difficult. It’s not like Walmart is in town.

I desperately want to move out west again, to Nevada. The big issue is the fact that where I want to live, it’s small, hard to find work, and in the mountains. Bad weather? You’re SOL. Virginia City. Beautiful, full of history. Ghost stories. But it’s just not possible. I’d never survive long term…

And yeah, it’s also sad, seeing how he’s basically regressed to a child like state, but he’s trying so hard. He’s learning sign language. He’s working to get better. And to see him still so happy and proud. I can’t 😭

I just found out there’s an ending focused on Kelvin for Sons of the Forest so I looked into it and now, for only the second time, I’ve cried over a video game character. This time at least it was happy tears 🥹

If you like survival horror games, and building, I recommend The Forest, and its sequel (which is better in my opinion) Sons of the Forest. Same general premise: crash on an island, surrounded by cannibals and mutants. Caves, bunkers, sharks, it’s really good!

Me: Think I’ll make that can of soup for lunch, I’m hungry…

If someone contacts you, scared someone is going to hurt them, LISTEN. Do not ignore them! If my sister hadn’t convinced my mom to ignore me and tell me to go back, I wouldn’t have been assaulted. I would have been gone that night, instead. Fucking LISTEN if someone asks for help!

I’d posted the night before, trying to find help on Facebook, too. My friend did post for me, so everyone would know what happened. I still have some problems with my finger due to the damage he caused. I couldn’t bend it fully for over a year. It still hurts sometimes.
