I have a friend who’s very smart but constantly falls for this kind of stuff and it always makes me wonder what the through line is. I’m sure I’m susceptible to something just as stupid, but I guess this just isn’t the type of scam that appeals to me?

A particularly evil week for ICE flights in Africa. Since Tuesday, ICE has deported people to Algeria, Ethiopia and Kenya, plus two possible third-country removal trips to Ghana, and one confirmed third-country removal trip of 15 Latin American nationals to the Democratic Republic of Congo.
I bet this wasn’t counted as one his 17 days off either….
In Maine, ICE brazenly called their operation “catch of the day.” The banal inhumanity of it all is overwhelming. The deaths, the injuries, the conditions in detention, the brazen disregard for people’s rights, including American citizens. And it’s still happening.
