The article @kimlanelaw.bsky.social has no doubt been wanting to write for sixteen years:
"This is How Victor Orban Loses" (or how he lost!)

I feel like it's poorly understood that Trumpism is *explicitly* about Trump and his allies getting to play by their own set of rules literally wherever possible
Virginia! Today is the last day to vote in the redistricting referendum.

Taking us back to a greater era, World War I, when we had a War Department, there were no women in combat, & more soldiers, sailors, & marines died of flu & pneumonia than died in combat.
Besides everything else, this is utterly false about my old elite institution. I routinely gave people bad grades. On occasion I failed people. And yet no Dean ever summoned me to their office to complain.

Finally US pub day for this little monster co-birthed with my friend @bentarnoff.com, an adventure that made made us closer, neither of us would have had the stomach for it alone!

A screenshot of a post on X (formerly Twitter) by Magyar Péter (Ne féljetek), with the handle @magyarpeterMP. The post reads: "Until 31 May, the Orbán puppets may voluntarily step down from their positions. This applies to the President of Hungary, the President of the Curia, the President of the National Office for the Judiciary, the President of the Constitutional Court, and the Prosecutor General. On 12 April, the Hungarian people voted for a complete political transformation. If these officials do not step down voluntarily by 31 May, then — on the basis of the mandate received from millions of Hungarians — we will remove them from office." At the bottom, the timestamp reads "3:04 AM • Apr 21, 2026" alongside "19.9K Views".
Peter Magyar is not playing around at all. He's going to purge every single remnant of corrupt Orbanism. This is exactly how Dems need to be when they retake power.
Trump did this 👇🏽
If you attend the White House Correspondents Dinner this year, you should be legally barred from using the term "journalist" to describe yourself from that point on.
He was characteristically generous in an email exchange we had a few months ago.
Congrats to Tim Cook, whose obituary will feature extended quotations from the president's uh praise
Hungarian taxpayers paid American “post-liberal” Rod Dreher $105,000 last year to produce propaganda for Orban’s regime. www.jaccusepaper.co.uk/p/the-strang...
Oh great. What an exceptional scholar.
As a matter of principle, you can either have a dinner that celebrates the First Amendment or you can have a dinner that features Donald Trump. You can’t have both because the president holds the freedom of the press in contempt. www.mediamatters.org/donald-trump...
This is glaringly obvious to everyone except for the faces of corporate media, who desperately want to walk a red carpet
Also interesting in that an article of Mills’ has reframed how I’m conceptualizing my chapter on Hamner Cobbs.

Amazing!
NYT INVESTIGATION: As the Trump administration & Congress last year moved to repeal sanctions on Syria, the Qatar-based family that most stood to benefit was privately negotiating a real-estate partnership with Jared Kushner and proposing a Trump golf course in Syria www.nytimes.com/2026/04/19/u...
Mine too!
“I was very impressed with myself...”
You're telling me a giant corporation lied & underdelivered on promises to the public to get $750 billion in tax breaks
This is my surprised face
I just found not one but two-sources that backdate a key development in the book I am writing. I’ll have to rewrite parts of a chapter but in ways that I think strengthen my interpretation. In my experience, for reasons I don’t understand, such finds often come in bunches.
Coupon $12.46 each Starbucks French Roast Dark Roast Ground Coffee, 12 oz
I rarely get sticker shock over coffee but even HEB's low, low prices can't hide that this is up about 65% over last year (I checked my order history, it was around $8). The coupon gets you down to about 50%.
Are you sure it wasn’t two but you saw four
