You are even far more south than me! I’m glad we are all able to fly to the north despite the uncertainty.
Just arrived in the Netherland, I hope to see you soon!

I relate to this meme! Thrilled to receive a Fellowship for ECR from the Global South by the Lorentz Center for the “Spectral Percepts” workshop in the Netherlands. After weeks of travel uncertainty, I’m finally at the airport! Looking forward to the #music #cognition discussion.
I am also proud to tell you all that my article has the abstract in Indonesian language! I hope this can improve the reach of my article to my fellow Indonesians.
You can also access the full-text view-only version of "How is musical expertise related to executive functions? A systematic review and meta-analysis" here: rdcu.be/e4rIX
I am pleased to announce that our systematic review and meta-analysis on musical expertise and executive functions is published in @springernature.com PB&R! Thanks Kinar, @cvonbastian.bsky.social, Emma, and Renee for the hard work and supervisions!

Finally, our 4-year long project has been published! We have conducted a multi-lab study comparing STM of musicians and nonmusicians, collecting many other cognitive, personality, musical, and demographic variables!
A big thank you to all collaborators!

Finally out!
Do musicians have better short-term memory than nonmusicians? This is what we investigated in a multilab that joined together 33 research units from 15 different countries.
I presented part of the CoTraiLS project data at #ESCOP2025 @escop.bsky.social around 2 weeks ago. I’m happy to be part of this cognitive-stimulating conference with a fun and friendly environment! The joy of the conference remains to this day!
#Latepost
I’m going to present at the Blitz Talk on Friday, 6pm, at #ESCOP2025 @escop.bsky.social. The very last session, yet I’m sure with a lot of excitement! Come to listen whether engaging in your hobby predict your cognitive abilities. 🧠

If you're a native speaker of English, you might not have experienced any language barriers in your scientific career, but their negative impacts on early-career scientists nonfluent in English are big, as summarized in the figure below created by @tatsuya-amano.bsky.social and colleagues. (1/10)
I finally have my own professional website! It's still under development, but let me promote this first so the world knows who I am. cbaryanto.com
I will present part of my PhD research at the Saraswati International Conference on Music Education 2024 in Yogyakarta! I’m happy that after receiving my degree a few months ago, I got a chance to become a keynote speaker.

The 4th International Conference on Working Memory #ICWM #ICWM2024 is over, but the euphoria has not ended yet!
Yesterday’s highlight: Graham Hitch and Alan Baddeley talks! Who would’ve thought I would meet the researchers I studied during my undergrad cognitive psychology class?
Find me at #ICWM #ICWM2024 in the Parkinson Building, University of Leeds. I’m presenting my poster (no 21) on musical skill, sensory discriminations, and working memory during lunch this afternoon.
Thanks Nora! We'll meet soon at the ICWM! 😄 Looking forward to it!
Thanks Angelika! Big thanks for your help with Bayesian statistics! 💖

Post-its that moved on a Kanban from "Data Collection" to "Analyses"
👀 So, this happened! 😱 💃20 months and more than 500 participants recruited across 3 sites, in 3 languages, we officially completed data collection in our ORA ESRC/DFG/SSHRC processing speed training study (gtr.ukri.org/projects?ref... )!!! 🎉🥂🎉 Let the analyses begin 😍😍😍
I wonder how, I wonder why. Yesterday you told me about the blue blue sky. And now, I'm in Bluesky! #YouSingYouLose
