Come say hey!
Never forget, a 13-year study found that protected bike-lanes led to a drastic decline in fatalities for all road users.
ALL ROAD USERS.
And painted bike-lanes? No safety improvement at all. For sharrows, it’s actually safer to NOT have them.

Ok I was recommended this SER Playlist which so far is helpful

This was a foolish idea that i came up with that no one on my committee has expertise/experience in 💀
If I didn't think it was a brilliant idea I wouldn't do it but I'm convinced it's necessary!
I’m about to embark on my first multilevel analysis (which also happens to be a dissertation aim)
I am going in with 0 knowledge…. Help?
Ok who has seen wicked and is obsessed? I’ll go first: 🙋🏼♀️
Wow the bar is low
Cervical cancer mortality in US women younger than 25 years significantly declined between 2016 and 2021, likely due to the widespread adoption of HPV vaccination.

Buses should ALWAYS get priority over cars in cities.
Thanks for coming to my ted talk.
😂😂 I’ll just have to wait for my people to show up here!
How do you approach submitting papers for publication? Do you always know which journal tou want to publish in? Do you do research to find the perfect fit? How many journals do you try before going back to the drawing board?
Yeah maybe posting about a colonoscopy isn’t the way to go viral?? 🤣
Not that I would want that level of engagement… too much pressure!
Well not a LOT but the few posts I’ve made have almost no interaction. But maybe I need to post more to get on peoples radars and live with the no interaction for a bit? I can’t tell.
I have a lot of followers (I assume from SER starter pack) but very little engagement in my posts
Yes we just posted about #confounding but we can't forget our other favorite: #bias! SER members @mattpfox.bsky.social, Nedghie Adrian, @maartenvsmeden.bsky.social & Elizabeth Suarez share reminders on common sources of bias and how simulations can inform your understanding:
First dissertation paper is submitted for publication! Hopefully the editor and reviewers like it and don’t immediately desk reject it 🤞🏻🤞🏻
This will be my eighth colonoscopy. It never gets easier but I always try to keep in mind that this is to prevent cancer, and that helps a tiny bit.
Hit me up if you ever need any tips or tricks for getting through your colonoscopy prep day! Thanks for tuning in
So even though my risk of colon cancer remains high, the chances of catching it early is also high! I also get an upper endoscopy every three years to make sure everything leading into the colon looks okay.
By getting a colonoscopy every year (or as I like to call it, an annual cleanse), my doctors can detect polyps in my colon before they have the chance to turn into cancer and can detect signs of cancer early
Women with Lynch syndrome have between a 40% and 60% risk of developing colon cancer and it is likely that this will happen before the age of 50. Scary, right?
Well, luckily for me, colonoscopies exist!
As I fast in preparation for my colonoscopy tomorrow I am reminded at just how awesome preventative care is (a thread).
I have Lynch syndrome, a genetic mutation that increases my risk for certain cancers, including colon cancer.
Hi all! I’m a 5th year PhD candidate in epidemiology at BUSPH. My research interest is in maternal health, primarily childbirth, and I’m also *very* passionate about teaching!
Also big bike commuter!
I don’t remember how to interact on this type of platform anymore 🤣 I got so used to the absence of twitter that I lost all my skills
I would love to tell you about the times vaccines prevented me from getting sick, but every time it happens, I don’t notice. I just keep feeling well.
Neither do you.
Public health, when it’s working, is invisible.
Throwing this out into the world to see what happens:
I am graduating with a PhD in epidemiology this spring and interested in staying in academia to teach…
anyone have any leads on a a teaching/clinical track faculty position (ideally somewhere in commuting distance of boston)?
Statistics version of the distracted boyfriend meme. The boyfriend is labelled statistical significance. He is turning his head to admire a woman (labelled sample size) to the disgust of his girlfriend (labelled effect size).
That would be awesome!
