Bed in front of a brick wall. Theres a sign that says “do not trim” in both English and Spanish. All but a small portion of the green stems have been cut down.

That is until today, when the landscapers came and mostly ignored the signs I put up that say not to trim the beds. There’s a chance they come back but I am not particularly happy.

I don’t have time to do the work needed to rehab the beds in front of my place so I decided to just toss some native wildflower seeds and let nature do its thing. The beds don’t get full sun so I was skeptical it would work but there was a bunch of stuff growing and a few things blooming.

The HOA refuses to pay for landscaping beyond having the lawn mowed and instead encourages other owners to do their own landscaping. As a result, 90% of the beds haven’t had anything planted in them for at least 15 years.
