What's more shocking than ICE's plan to cram as many 8,500 humans into massive, soul-crushing warehouses?
Seeing the actual DHS floor plan that echoes slavery ships and history's worst gulags with no rec space but a gun range for guards
My new column on the camps www.inquirer.com/opinion/ice-...
“St Marks is Dead” is great look into a microcosm in NY which rippled outward.
But boy oh boy, that SF camp of homeowners *really* like to act as the benevolent dictators of the polity. They are a special breed given how much wealth it takes to own property there.
I think that notion can be applied to most any ‘progressive’ camp in local politics across the US, even in ‘progressive’ cities
And it’s mostly due to age demographics. Most folks that bought houses between the Savings & Loan and ‘08 Housing Crises are belligerently ignorant of affordability issues
Why is *anyone* arguing over his class? The guy is an effing notsee and all arguing should stop there.
Marimar Martinez was shot by Border Patrol five times.
DHS accused her of being a domestic terrorist.
She went to court to get the body cam footage released.
It shows Agent Charles Exum driving with his gun drawn.
Saying “do something b*tch”.
Ramming her car.
Shooting her.
It shows DHS lied.
I will simply never recover from reading this sentence:
"Since Georgia implemented work requirements in 2020, they have spent twice as much on Deloitte consultants and administrative costs as on healthcare for people."

Donald Trump in his inauguration address a year ago:
"The vicious, violent, and unfair weaponization of the Justice Department and our government will end…Never again will the immense power of the state be weaponized to persecute political opponents."
NEW: Trump pardoned a porta-potty magnate named Arie Eric De Jong III who was sentenced to 5 months in federal prison for illegally disposing of sludge in cities across southern California.
The powerful Chicago Teachers Union that regularly slams the Trump administration received word on Thursday that its finances are being investigated by a federal agency on top of an already announced inquiry by a Republican-led U.S. House committee.
NEWS: A day after the Minneapolis shooting, Secretary Noem quietly signed a new policy barring congressional visits to ICE facilities without a week's advance notice. That policy change led to three MN Dems being blocked from accessing an ICE facility today. www.politico.com/news/2026/01...
Suspect arrested in predawn fire that left parts of Mississippi’s largest synagogue in charred ruins
A fire heavily damaged Jackson’s only synagogue before dawn Saturday – the same house of worship that was firebombed by the Ku Klux Klan in 1967 because the rabbi had been an advocate for civil…
I’ve seen a million media stories about how sad Republican voters in CA are about losing their Republican representatives.
But I don’t think I’ve seen a single one talking about Demoratic voters in Texas, or North Carolina, or Missouri losing their representatives.

“Air pollution fell substantially as Paris restricted car traffic and made way for parks, people-streets and bike-lanes.”
Better for the climate, better for health, better for livability and quality of life.
Common sense.
Such a no-brainer, it’s remarkable that more cities HAVEN’T done the same.
Or a grain silo.
“We’re broken and we’re being poached by ICE,” one official with the prison workers union told ProPublica. “It’s unbelievable. People are leaving in droves.”

Where are the flight records? I want to see a list of every journo’s name that stayed silent after that.
Not it’s not.
This isn’t a sign of his demise. They’re not turncoats, they are opportunists.
They will say whatever it takes to stay relevant and squeeze whatever ounce of power they can out of their current place of negotiating power.
