I came late to Goose and ever since thought documenting fans’ origin stories is a great idea! I’d seen them twice in ‘22, but it didn’t click. But friends got me to hit Goosemas ‘24 and I’ve been in 100% since. Something about the style of jams those nights, combined with a good crew roped me in.

Probably to build up a new geographical fan base. Just 3 months before I saw phish play their first msg show, I saw them play a small outdoor amphitheater at university of Florida for free! Had there been 2nd tier festivals at that time, I’m sure they would have played them too.

Totally. The Dead channeled Americana,
Country and bluegrass, Phish 70’s rock and prog rock. Trey’s early tone was very much like Santana and he used to try and sing like Zappa.

100%

I’ll never understand this logic. Like, who says, “Man, I wish there weren’t more bands out there that sound like my favorite band”? I fell in love with Phish in the mid 90s, and have been hoping ever since that more bands could do something similar to what they do.

Return of deep Wysteria jams. Return of Torero. More Michael Jackson-esque Trevor bass grooves. More Goontz.

Video seems more appropriate for Earthling or Alien

It certainly does on my small business tax return

Thanks for sharing! Why wasn’t there an encore at this show?

I didn’t dislike the new versions. The new Your Direction was fun. But I like the originals better. Original Your Direction has a vibe that just works under the right conditions (see Fiddlers N2 opener).

I’ve never listened to Dogs in a Pile. Where should I begin?

I’d say Eggy. But I’ve never seen Dogs.
