Any kind of environment where the majority of your surroundings are fear/rage based will usually give rise to some form of fascism.

I think when social media companies had to scramble to become profitable for shareholders and advertisers, they altered the algorithm to show more materials that elicit negative emotions, which are more addictive/compelling and kept people scrolling…
