Time for a break? Take just five minutes to clean up a flat surface (desk, counter, table, shelf, etc.) within sight. It'll help make things feel a little less chaotic.

Never underestimate the smug sense of self-satisfaction you can get by putting a load of clean, dry dishes or laundry away immediately after they’re done.

Unstoppable. Indomitable. Can’t tell me shit. I could rule the world.

Try it.

Clearing out chametz and all the subsequent cleaning is definitely exerting control over your environment! (But usually way more stressful than calming, tbh)

Feeling exhausted, hopeless, or powerless due to [gestures wildly at everything]? Step away from the news and exert a little control over your immediate environment.

Clear off a counter. Wash a couple of dishes. Put away some laundry. It's a great way to interrupt the spiraling.

I’m making matzo ball soup at this exact moment! It is very difficult to mess up, so I’m sure yours will be delicious.

I’ve noticed a massive uptick in people getting involved with mutual aid in the programs I work with. Some have had participation nearly double in the last few months, which is encouraging. People just want a way to get involved and the easier orgs make it, the better!

1) Less Mess, Less Stress is the UK reissue of Unfuck Your Habitat: You’re Better Than Your Mess. It has some light updates but is essentially the same book
2) there’s some problem with my hosting right now that we’re working on and will hopefully have the site back up soon

Congrats, but also how is that possible? What is time??

This is exactly what I had to do. It was the same can we use for yard waste pickup, so each round of collection trucks thought it was the other one’s problem. Duct taped some bags around it with a big sharpie sign: “Broken, please take!”

Absolutely wild how this escapes people even as they disproportionately demand action from other Black public figures

What household task can you half-ass today so it’s maybe just a little bit better than it was?

Giving yourself permission to not do a perfect job is really freeing. Give it a try if you can!

Me, when Benadryl is the only thing that works for my allergies. Drastically increase my dementia risk or sneeze 500x a day? It’s one or the other

I adore my steam cleaner! Between my allergies and constantly being worried my dogs will get into something, it’s a game changer! (Just have to make sure the exposure time is long enough to kill bacteria/viruses.)

I got a mug warmer last year and am not totally sure how I survived this long without one.

I've yet to see an author whose work isn't in the dataset. The scope of the theft is astonishing.

Search LibGen, the Pirated-Books Database That Meta Used to Train AI Millions of books and scientific papers are captured in the collection’s current iteration.

Basically every author you know (including me!) has had their copyrighted work stolen by Meta to train their AI. The multi-billion dollar tech company could have legally licensed books and papers, but they stole them instead because it was cheaper and easier.

Do you have a load of laundry in the washer that needs to go in the dryer? Go do that.

(If it’s been a while, run it through a quick wash cycle again with 1/2 the detergent and 1/2 a cup of white vinegar, if you have it. The vinegar smell doesn’t survive the dryer and kills the musty smell.)
