Well after taxes it would buy me a few dinners out. So that seems ok, no?

I was just offered an honorarium for a grant selection committee I serve on. Have I become so Canadian πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ that I feel sheepish asking for the moneyπŸ’°?

Certainly more involved than running many small countries!

What great news to wake up to: "I am happy to tell you that your manuscript has been accepted for publication in Disease Models & Mechanisms" πŸ₯³πŸŽ‰ It's been a bit rough lately, so hopefully this will start a new trend 🀞

I'm so sorry to hear this. Sending your family condolences. I really valued her presence and opinions, which I mostly experienced through X and here. So sad.

Senior professors - if you want to help your junior colleagues in these times, I am begging you, review our papers. I have done 25 manuscript reviews in the last 6 years. But my own manuscript is stalled out waiting for reviewers. Relatedly, I won't be doing any more reviews until tenure. πŸ§ͺ

Any UC Berkeley grads who are early career faculty? Im first gen academic and didn’t get my regalia for years after starting as faculty because I didn’t know why I’d want it, but it’s sooo nice to wear when your own grads are crossing the stage! #AcademicSky πŸ§ͺ

I have been holding my breath - I didn't know how badly I needed this to go well. Will be relieved when we hear their voices!

Artemis II Live Tracker – Real-Time Orion Spacecraft Position & Trajectory Track NASA's Artemis II Orion spacecraft live on a real-time 2D map of the Earth-Moon system. See position, speed, distance, crew info, and full trajectory for all Artemis missions.

Sharing this again as it is so cool to watch this mission.

This is something that frustrates me - so much interesting stuff is in the supplements, but those are not included in the article PDF most of the time. Would be so easy to include for the full story. But also - reviewers should stop asking for insane amounts of data in papers!!

Yeah but that was for a whole book! I hate that we are offered summaries of emails! That is absurd.

This is so cool. I hadn't realized that the moon is of course moving so as they head towards it, it is also moving. In awe at the calculations involved to make this work!
